What a wasted opportunity. I love beetroot and I thought this would be full of flavour, but it's tasteless.

I probably should mention the following items that I found on RTC in M on Wednesday. I had Colgate Plax Cool Mint Mouthwash 1L at £2.75 RTC. Whilst I know some own label mouthwash is available at 50p for 500ml, the RTC price is of course a lot less than usual lowest offer price of £2.00 for 500ml on Listerine and still less than 2 for £3 (again for 500ml) on other brands.

I had some Colmans Dry Pie Sauce Mixes at 40p RTC and I would also point to the cleaning aisles of M as a place where proper RTC prices might be found (probably alongside some ridiculous ones that need to be ignored:rotfl: so, again, don't always assume that, just because some items in an aisle may be going cheaper, the whole aisle is cheap). I am just mentioning it as general "cleaning aisle" because I noticed the words "Cleaning reductions" displayed somewhere in my store which suggests to me there might well be further cleaning items that I am not aware of on RTCs in other stores, unless the items I had in one of my stores are store-specific clearance of items the store isn't going to have in future. I think probably best go quick (but only if you are already going to M and don't make a special trip because you might well find nowt), as some of these items were already low on stock or OOS for me on Wednesday. It seems people are already snapping them up and may already been cleared out of some places before I get to posting them.

I had some Astonish Hob Cleaner, Dettol Power Fresh 500ml and Dettol Pomegranate Spray 400ml in my store. This is in case you still have full price SEL in your store - asking you to look for cleaning RTCs in your store therefore isn't helpful if your store still has full price showing.

I don't know if the items I found are store-specific. This does not seem to happen often but it's a possibility as I found no indication that the items were on RTC anywhere else. This happens very rarely. I did have a store a couple of weeks back that had some pet food and baby aisle items showing RTCs. It seems to me that that was a store that was clearing a range of items that it is no longer going to have. I have now already taken them off the list because parts of it were exceeding the character limit and delteing those was the quickest way to deal with it - however I ought to look at my copy of the list and repost the details (if they are available for someone although I suspect unlikely) before I overwrite that and lose the information. I have only found one of the items with any evidence of the RTC being on elsewhere - a cat collar at £1.75, which happens to be the only item I have marked with "eek" - typical that the one I consider to be still quite expensive seems to be the only one that is available elsewhere but I have had other cat collars on 50p in the past.

So, just to mention the Mouthwash, the Colmans Pie Mixes (that may be comparable from A?) and to have a look around your cleaning aisle as they may currently be some reductions there. Those items may then be found on RTC shelves (or any random place in stores) on a store specific basis in a few weeks going cheaper than the national RTC price. This being a different type of store-specific clearance just to confuse you.

Details of different clearances, for those interested.

There are what I consider to be two types, or even three. The ones I take note of on the list are ones that are "national" - I don't count for whoopsies that are store-specific. I am ignoring out whoopsied bakery and fresh veg. items that are the first type of the three.

So the other two types - one I take note of and one of them I shouldn't (but I do because I don't initially know that it is store-specific). We have national items that are on RTC across M, what we might call "national RTC price" that have further store-specific reduction. I note the national price, but you may find the item cheaper on store-specific basis and therefore that's a type of store-specific.

The other one, which is the one I perhaps shouldn't note, is a clearance that is itself store-specific. This is a type that the cleaning items may possibly be (because I have not seen the RTC prices displayed anywhere else) but they could be national RTC and there is no way of telling from the SELs whether it is national or not (if I scan the item in the RTC SEL store, it may well scan as RTC price but doesn't tell me whether the RTC is available elsewhere as it may be store-specific). I would have to find the item elsewhere, showing full price SEL and then scan to see if it is on clearance there.

The store-specific clearance (which isn't a store-specific markdown on a national RTC item) doesn't happen very often and, when it does, I'm not even sure if it exists (because all I see are RTC SELs that are identical to other RTCs that do run across stores so there's no way of knowing that I have found a store-specific clearout although I just a get a vague indication that it might be because I don't see the RTCs anywhere else but keep having full price everywhere else, but then it may be all my other stores haven't changed their SELs and are failing to show a national RTC). I have only had what might be store-specific clearance (not knockdowns off national RTCs) - and I'm never sure they are - on a couple of occasions before, and the cleaning items now may be the third time.

I had one store a while ago that seemed to be getting rid of a specialist shampoo and conditioner range, that had RTC SELs across nearly every item in the range, none of which matched up with full prices that continued online and other stores that had this range (which was very few stores for me, most don't have it and the one I found with the clearance might have been joining them by getting rid of it) continued to have full price showing and eventually I scanned one of the items and it was full price. It seemed that it was a case of one store getting rid of a range it wasn't going to stock in future. The only other occasion, out of many weeks and now years of checking in M, was a couple of weeks back when I had my store getting rid of some baby aisle items and also some specialist-type pet aisle items that, again, aren't stocked in many other stores I have. Apart from the cat collar, I've had no indication of any RTC on the items anywhere else. The cleaning products I have could now be a store-specific clearance, even though it looks identical to a national RTC, in one store - although maybe my other store hadn't put the RTC SELs on its display yet by Wednesday as it might only have started that day.

It may be a store-specific clearance. However, there does seem to be some 'cleaning reductions' clearance going on in M, which I suspect has items that I haven't found, so do have a look when you are there! I mention it in advance of updating the list because these items may well go quickly and will probably be gone in most places before I finish updating the list.

There's also a couple of Fox's Chunkie Cookies packs that were on clearance instore in M on Wednesday but I don't think they are now. As they were, it seems, 50p in M on Wednesday (at least one of them was) they ought to compare against M 50p on the APG (until at least into Tuesday); however I think they quite likely won't. These are items that I think went onto RTC in M on a Thursday - 7th June to be specific (7th June 2018 to be even more so:rotfl:, but you knew that, so it was unnecessary). I did not have any indication of any RTC on them on the collection on Wednesday 6th, but happened to return to one of my Ms the following day for an emergency purchase and noticed the Fox's Cookies had an RTC - I was then aware of it but it missed price collection day (I think they only went onto RTC on the Thursday) and therefore had to wait to if they were still around on Monday after a weekend that probably saw shoppers clearing them out of most stores:(. It was probably best chance on the data from that Monday (therefore approx. 13th June to part of 15th June on the APG).

I didn't visit M on the Monday as I was 150 miles away enjoying the sunshine on an open-air steam train. The most I have had in M after finding them on a Thursday which didn't count was a couple of 50p SELs but no stock in one store and no trace elsewhere. By the time we were getting to last week, still 50p in M they would most probably be out of stock for too long in collection stores if they had any trace at all. Having had no stock of the product, certainly none at any time I saw RTC after their first day, the two items suddenly turned up for me on Wednesday in the one store where I'd had any trace but no stock of them. This is Wednesday 20th. Unfortunately, now in stock, they had full price £1.88 SELs but I took one for scanning and it was 50p. Someone who says they work for Morrisons posted them on hotukdeals after the clearance started and set them to expire on 20th June - on the basis that they must know, I think these went to full price yesterday in M (the day after I scanned one of them on the collection day at 50p) - so the information I have is over within a day and that may be why my store had full price already on Wednesday, in preparation for them to go back up instore (they have remained at full price throughout online AFAIK as it appears this was an instore only price). It seems likely to me the 50p SELs will have either gone or the product out of stock for too long in stores displaying it and therefore they don't count and, if the collectors had it anywhere, more likely to have what was on Wednesday incorrect full price showing so end up with that price. So they probably will not end up with M's Wednesday 50p price - it's more likely it seems to me to return (and it could return differently on each one) N/A or full price £1.88.

If they have six stores, then, based on my five on Wednesday, I would only need to go to another place and then the result after that is what I have. If my sixth store would have been my nearby M that had already gone no trace last week (although I never know - they could have returned by Wednesday 20th but let's take it they didn't) then all I have is £1.88 SELs from the one store that had them back by Wednesday and, frustratingly, it seems to me the 50p is unlikely to work in Avs M even though they were 50p in M on Wednesday. It seems they are now full price almost immediately in M now, assuming the member of staff knows something I don't so, if that's correct, then they can't even be got for 50p from M anymore. However, the good news is that 50p is still well expensive in the light of 10p clearance on several cookies packs in M some years ago so we wouldn't have bought them anyway and are now saving the 50p per pack and are not subject to temptation by that price if it's not on anymore:j:money:. Fwiw, SP Cookies ought to compare against M at 40p and are quite a few more gs. in weight anyway:rotfl::naughty:.

    Afternoon everyone.

Well what a night, Harley had the whole house up crying, howling, barking.

He got comfy then using his good legs would move around the room then moan as he's stuck.

He has only just done his first wee, and Thank God he was in the garden, as he rolled on his back and it covered him.

He is trying so hard bless him he can hold his weight when standing but can't get up, but he's trying.

Bubbs good luck for your husband with job interview.

I've done my usual thing (when situations such as this exist) and bought the correct Bitesize Shredded Wheat. I suspect that anyone who doesn't read this thread, if they are buying Bitesize Shredded Wheat, would pick the extremely expensive r'back pack (that is even way more expensive elsewhere) that works out far worse.

The 750g pack at £2 looks like it is good - however I would expect at least 1Kg for that price so, if I bought that, I would be shortchanged by at least 250g. Just how expensive that £2 r'back pack is therefore...

The 500g pack at £2.49 (work that one out - looks like £2.49 for 500g but £2 for 750g) looks like it is even worse. However, it is not as there is a 90p price behind that £2.49! Whereas that £2 at best keeps you at £2 (for 750g:eek: not 2x500g=1Kg) or likely takes you to obtaining at a far worse price on the APG.

I get the 500g pack and get 90p price vs M so I could get 1Kg for cheaper than £2 price:
    1x Nestle Shredded Wheat Bitesize (500g) £2.49 £1.00

I suspect most people (who don't use this thread) would make the mistake of buying the 750g pack. Then, even if they were to check their receipt, which many people do not, they are likely to have £2 vs much more expensive price at either everywhere else or everywhere else except M (I pay no attention to whether there even is a 750g pack at M as, if there is, it's way more expensive price) and either cut their APG or - there you are, 10% cheaper and they think they've saved money as the competitors are way more expensive price on the 750g pack.

This also would not help wombles, though we may live in hope that someone who doesn't even look at the prices on the shelf just picks up 500g pack and pays much more. It's currently an outright mistake to buy 750g (IMO) as it's not currently cheaper elsewhere but a mistake to buy 500g and fail to check your receipt or not shop against M and check the receipt. Unfortunately not available to Northern Ireland, but I have definitely bought the correct one, the 500g one that really does save money compared to other pack size, and I've really obtained the better amount for the price paid as I've not paid even the £2 in order to lose 250g (a quarter of the 1Kg weight that I would expect to get for that price).

If you just want to get out a bit more it might be worth looking for local groups on facebook. We have a few just for ladies to meet up for lunch, outings etc. I've made several friends on these groups (in fact 5 of went on holiday together last week :D). The ages on all of them range from 20s to 70s although some groups seem to appeal more to similar age groups iyswim.

If you have a local gossip page you could always post in there to see if anyone knows of any local ones
