To find even the 'normal' items three stores, four should be getting close, six usually finds nearly everything that I have seen before - may leave me outstanding a few items I'm satisfied haven't changed - but, with supposed RTC items like these, you could visit 20 stores and still not find them. The "proper check" is just the regular items and attempts to find further RTCs but not even an attempt to find specific RTC-suspected items like this which I would have to widen to more than 20 stores to try to find and possibly not do so even if I could ever get to after that (I don't have the ability to do long journeys and leave things uncovered here at home anymore - there was some coverage before but I am on my tod with those things now:rotfl:). Even though you don't have the product now, and it may seem unlikely, items can suddenly appear in stores at any time even months later. You could have nothing for ages in your store and then suddenly see a pack (maybe at that stage likely to be knocked down store-specific even more?) quite some time later. It is just the pot luck of happening to be in the store at the right time even if the store ever had the item in the first place.

I have had a completely other item turning up in M on cheaper RTC store-specific price months after losing it from everywhere - and then the place it turned up at I had never seen it at that store even when it was still around for me everywhere else:huh:. The random appearance in the store, months after clearance from everywhere else, and weeks after a random appearance on cheaper RTC still at another store before I lost the product entirely for a while, was itself a one-off - as every visit since it has been no trace again. It is obviously in someone else's store now and moving around making one-off random appearances in numerous different places, one different one each day or every other day months later, that I am not visiting:rotfl:.

When I do have an item suddenly landing in one of the stores I am visiting, months later (and of course I never deleted it from the list during the period I didn't have it as experience is it will be somewhere else), it just causes me to extend the period it will be on the list as I have seen the item recently and found it was, as expected, not fully gone from M. You may well have items that you have not had for ages in your store that are still on my list, because I have (or haven't:rotfl:) seen them recently and someone will, I think, have items that are still on my list that I haven't seen for ages in any of the places I've visited.

You might get this item from a set of six stores - at this stage, an RTC (suspected) like this could be found in about this number - and a completely different set of six maybe likely to find it in one - obviously another one so two stores out of twelve. Maybe. But then you could visit 10 and find you've got the ones without it in. I think chances are probably still around and good chance of one out of six but getting less and less chance each day as it sells out of places (but then again stores could have more stock and keep bringing it out - may just have sold out of the stock on the floor of your two stores and got further stock they had not yet brought out in those stores yet). I had one on alcohol, months ago, that had nothing (none of the random 500ml RTC bottles I was having in a couple of places elsewhere, one each in one store each and nothing in my other store) - then this other place with nothing, on my visit, staff were suddenly setting up a whole new section in the store and bringing several the products out but none of them with SELs at that stage as they were literally setting up the shelf whilst I was there (and had to leave assuming they were all still £1 RTC - did find them elsewhere as well as some of them online so I was fine).

If we add your two Swindon stores to my four elsewhere, then we have six and haven't found the product. However, my four may have been before the item went onto RTC as I only first saw it several days later, on hotukdeals. So if I had done my four in the last couple of days, perhaps I would have found it in one of my stores.
