    Morning :)

Well I missed the Royal wedding as ended up in A&E

I thought I had posted from my hospital bed but not sure what I did.

My continuing stomach problem has taken a turn for the worst very scary as I brought up bit of the red stuff. :o

Was proded and poked :( and full set of bloods done which thankfully were ok and told most probably abrasions on my oesophagus. But I have appointment with GP today as was suggested it is properly investigated something I have always put off. :o
:eek::eek: hope the docs went ok, hope you are feeling better today xx
[QUOTE Also ChelseaFred good news he was about this morning :)

    Here I is:hello:

Sorry to be so elusive, RL is keeping me busy!

Been to Dubai for a couple of weeks (amazing place, well worth visiting) A couple of short breaks in London Town supporting the Mighty Blues, some home DIY to keep Wifey happy, Babysitting GC's and DD's Cat, Walking 4 miles a day to get to 10k steps per day to keep fit etc.

Over 20 years ago our local Council wanted to close our Outdoor Swimming Pool. We fought a campaign to keep it open and a group of us formed a Charity Trust to take it over and we have run it ever since, now as a Registered Charity. This obviously means running it ourselves with a lot of Volunteer Help, the only paid Staff being the Lifeguards. The Pool is almost Olympic size (50yds rather than 50m) and is set in lovely grounds.
All of this takes a lot of maintenance so I, and many others, have been busy in recent weeks getting it ready for the Opening of the new season starting this Saturday. The Pool has been drained, pressure-washed, painted, refilled and now heated and is looking fantastic:j I have been able to spend a lot more time there this year and the weather has been brilliant so we have got a lot done.
    (Google Bourne Outdoor Pool)

So I have only been Lurking most of the last few weeks but I have been keeping an eye on you all:cool:
I'm ready for a few Glitches now so let's go!

    This Retirement Lark is exhausting:)

Good afternoon....The cloud has finally dissipated to leave a beautiful blue sky......Lovely warm sunshine returns again.....

Going away to Southampton tomorrow to see my big Sis and BIL.....BIL has not been well for some time.....Sis is worrying...Go and see what I can do...:)

I popped to the garden centre this morning to get a length of irrigation pipe so that my tomatoes can get watered while I am away....Ended up spending over £80 on plants...:eek:..Well, that's what they would have been had they not been on the reduced trolley....£7 for the lot...:j:j:j..There was a nice plum tree there too but even at half price, £20 is a bit much...I also got a nice metal Robin... Will take it for my Sis to put in her garden....

Hope you are all having good days...:D

I'm near a pay out amount so wonder if they're stalling to prevent me from cashing out? :(

OH also spotted some reduced chocolate digestives on the RTC stand which he was quite keen to put in the trolley - to me they were still not properly reduced so they were not going in the trolley.
OH has managed to wean himself off biscuits for about 4 weeks now - he is still eating big bowls of muesli, entire bags of sweets in one sitting, the odd square of chocolate, 2 oranges at a time and the odd slice of cake ... so the sugar consumption is not any better ...

Anyway OH says he would take the biscuits to work.
I say they are still the same amount of sugar and calories if you eat them at home or at work.

OH says he has not eaten biscuits for weeks.
I say so that's not a reason to start eating them now.

    OH says they are reduced.
I say being reduced is not a reason to buy biscuits, same sugar, calories etc

OH says he still eats biscuits when giving blood.
I say yes that's once every 16 weeks and still no reason to eat them inbetween times.

Then he gives up, having lost the argument :rotfl:
You are SOOOO mean to him!!! Has he had his sherbet dip yet?

So we went to give blood this afternoon.

They take a tiny drop from your finger end and drop it into a test tube of blue solution. Its supposed to drop like a stone. Mine didn't though so the chap did the test again. It still didn't drop.

Then off we went to do another test in a corner where they take a drop from your non leading arm and put it on a slide and insert it into a reader. It has to read over a certain level and I was slightly below - 117 - so officially I didn't have enough iron.

So I was suspended today and couldn't give blood :(

Very disappointed with myself - I've been drinking lots of water today to make sure I wasn't dehydrated as I know this can affect things. And generally eating very well - lots of salad with meat and I even chop prunes onto salad. I also like very dark chocolate which is supposed to have a lot of iron.

    Booked again for September.

:(:(:( I was in same floating situation last year & barred for 6 months. Took iron tablets & got mine back up to 'normal' but I will miss my 'welcome back' session as we are away :(
