    Morning elite
I can't hear anything as the carpet fitters are making too much noise!:)

I listened on the radio yesterday and it seems it depends on what volume you have. I heard laurel when volume turned up then yanny when it was low. Don't try this while driving!!

SD had Olay regenerist luminous, advanced anti ageing spf 20 (silver & bluey/green tall thin box) sel £3 and went trough at bogof but not marked on shel. Couldn't find the one mentioned here.

Have a good weekend, I shall be attending a wedding but not THE wedding!:) Personally I loath going to weddings.:)
  • Evening all.

Is anyone else having issues with SSM?

I saved my coupons, went shopping and got all 7 items uploaded the receipt and it was rejected. Still waiting for a response via email aswell.

Just curious as to if anyone else is having or had issues.

Ah I see the description is the same as mentioned on here but the box is different.

It promises an 'even skin & luminous glow in 8 weeks', if I put the whole bottle on would I obtain the same results by tomorrow?:)

I'll be watching "the Wedding" tomorrow (note the capital letter). I'm actually not a royalist and I don't normally watch these things - in fact I was the only person in my class way back in the day when Prince Charles and Diana married that didn't watch it. My parents were (and my surviving parent no doubt still is) dead against royalty and the Royal Family. At school the following day one of my teachers asked the class if they had watched it and I failed to pipe up and say that I didn't. I failed to say anything as I was totally lacking in confidence and oral communication back then was often impossible and very difficult for me (so I believe now was actually my Asperger's that nobody knew about). I actually got into a little bit of trouble as I was then unable to do the class exercise which was to draw something from the wedding. I then, with difficulty, told them I hadn't watched and their reply was to the effect "well you didn't say anything at the beginning" and they basically insisted I do the exercise. Which I was unable to do since I hadn't seen the wedding. One of my classmates (if I ever had friends and I suppose truly I did not) helped me out by telling me something that had happened at the wedding which I then drew (probably in general terms and possibly didn't even look like the object at the wedding, but I will never know and it was satisfactory to complete the exercise).

Anyway, that wasn't what I came to post:rotfl:. It was a preamble to me saying that I will be watching the current wedding and that I don't normally watch these things. I didn't see Charles and Diana or William and Kate (or any in between if there even were any:rotfl: - can't even remember if there were) but I will be watching Harry and Meghan - but only because it is part of a current specialist interest.

Separately I notice just now this morning - the rest of the world communicating with me (or attempting to communicate with me and doubtless we'll see very soon whether that communication has actually got through and the message been received and whether it therefore even constitutes a "communication":rotfl:). I'm given what is described as "AN UPDATE". I'm told that Meghan Markle has asked HRH The Princes of Wales to accompany her down the aisle and that the Princes of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome her to the Royal Family in this way.

    My response -

    And...?!?

And what? 'He is pleased to be able to welcome her to the Family in this way'.

But what about walking her down the aisle? Doesn't say anything that he is going to do that. It merely says he's pleased to be able to welcome her in this way but doesn't say whether or not he is actually going to do so.

So, whilst I wait for information as to whether or not he is actually going to go beyond his being "pleased" as his "ability" to welcome her, I assume that it is actually going to do so (to walk her down the aisle). He's able to welcome her (my emphasis) but that doesn't go beyond merely expressing his ability over that matter - in theory (haha:rotfl:) I have no idea whether or not his stated ability is going to be put into practice.

However, as stated, fortunately I have been able to assume that he is going to walk her down the aisle and therefore only fortuitously has it communicated to me that he is doing so. So I have got this as it's clearly implied by the "Update" even though it hasn't expressly explicitly stated it - I think it's clear to almost everyone except perhaps the person that has an even greater taking things literally than me - but only because I've learnt over time what things really mean (although this still often in other communications leaves me not knowing whether they mean what I think they do or not and struggling to work out what they do mean:rotfl:).

That update though - as far as I see it, it is incomplete. It doesn't go on to say that Princes Charles is walking her down the aisle (even though in fact it does say that by clearly meaning it). The update, the way I automatically see it, for me therefore ends mid-paragraph. It therefore leaves me at the end and leaves me saying "And....?"

In another way, this is also yet another example of how people generally almost never complete any job or a task within a job completely and leaves things incomplete. They have failed to go on to state that HRH Prince Charles will be walking her down the aisle and therefore have failed to complete the job:rotfl:. The job of writing a full press release rather than the incomplete two sentences of update I have got.

:rotfl::rotfl:Yet again, just not able to do a full job! People never do. From most people's perspective, it probably looks like I am pedantic and insisting that the extra unnecessary statement be specifically stated, but to me it is incomplete, left unstated and at the end of the actual update, I am left hanging in the air as it hasn't gone on to do every technically right part of the communication and to complete and do every part.

    And...????
    And what?

    "He's pleased to be able..."

    And...?:question::D:question::huh::p:rotfl::rotfl:

    :j(Singing:) Not done your full jo--ob. I win ag-ga-in!:rotfl:

So, I've no idea whether Princes Charles is walking her down the aisle or not, (although fortunately my lack of idea is theoretical as I have actually maaged to work that out). I've no idea why the media are assuming that he actually will do:rotfl::rotfl:. I may now wonder whether this is a get-out clause in case it then transpires that some unforeseen event intervenes that means he doesn't do so. However, it clearly isn't although this is just the way I would approach this and the sorts of thoughts an incomplete communication leads to me thinking:rotfl:.

:idea:Perhaps I ought to go and ask them. Just to make the point and perhaps raise autism awareness. I should write in to Kensington Palace and ask them whether Princes Charles is walking Meghan down the aisle as their update hasn't actually stated this(:rotfl:). At least it will cause them to think about how they communicate with someone on the spectrum next time.

It is perhaps a perfect example of communication, or non-communication (sometimes communicating, which it fortunately did here, and sometimes not), and how things are understood, and misunderstood.

I think I might write to Kensington Palace, deliberately, just for fun, even though I really know.

So there we are - the criticism that the communication hasn't actually specifically that he is going to walk her down the aisle and the person who has Asperger's totally right on that matter again. I really pick people up and point out the inadequacies and omissions of communication of society generally and the what I perceive as imperfections that put the whole thing to right. You lot are just not nearly careful enough and don't do literally everything you should:rotfl:.

To everyone else, it is just an irritating waste of time having to go on in a communication to state the obvious. However, to the person who has Asperger's, it isn't obvious - and that is precisely because it hasn't been expressed stated. The matter has therefore be left techincally open and therefore it is not obvious at all.

However, this is theory with me here. In theory I don't know, since it hasn't stated. (It has stated but non-expressly, although sometimes that doesn't communicate to me as I miss the implied message.) However I am aware of how people communicate - namely they don't state things expressly and there are things that are implied (although how would I know?) so I have easily got the implication - although by also picking up the "flaw" that the update is incomplete.

It's also two stages away, not merely one. It doesn't even say that he is pleased to walk her down the aisle; it says he is pleased to be able to walk her down the aisle therefore doesn't even say that he is doing so but is merely about his ability to do so and that says nothing as to whether he is going to exercise his ability and do what he is able to do or whether he is not:rotfl:. Yet again, on this, I suspect the Asperger's person has picked you up on the preciseness of the individual words you have used (or some of those individual words, usually a single word) that didn't expressly state what you really meant but instead mean something else. Every word has to be precise and exact otherwise a tiny word - especially a tiny detail such as an individual word - will be picked on and argued on. So - my standard of completeness and perfection requires that you have to be precise, exact and accurate on every individual word in every way:rotfl::rotfl:. Don't say what you don't mean! And say precisely and exactly what you do mean.

Anyway, I shall be enjoying the wedding - and probably wondering at some few moments about whether the colour of her dress says anything impliedly or not:rotfl:. (...Is there any hidden communication that I am not getting maybe?:rotfl::rotfl:. I think too much. Clearly.)

I had this panic as well yesterday. The renewal letter came about 3 weeks ago but I didn't have the head space for it at the time - dealing with the Sky contract, Errant son getting ready for his course, OH on sick leave etc ...

Then I had an email from them yesterday saying thank you for the payment - OMG I'd left the autorenewal in place
Anyway as it was still 5 days to renewal date I did my quotes from the usual places and got a slightly more expensive quote from Tesco but it included the legal expenses bit.
I then rang Policy Expert and asked why they had taken payment early when it was not even due and I said I had got a comparable quote from Tesco with cashback. They read me out the official star rating of the insurance companies which put Tesco very low. He offered me a reduced price - saving about £18 in all and included legal free - he had to cancel the old payment and do a new one.
So all done for another year
