so with the merger in talks which one will go? nectar points or apg............also if its for market share and so they beat Tesco to have 30% surely that would be incorrect because I can see a lot of jobs going if they do that as they wouldn't need so many 'local' sainsbugs and asdas all in the same town. Will await the 7am on the 30th for the next update!

Rocky has been squarking for the last hour calling for a mate.......only thing hes attracted so far is a couple of moths lol

Considering S have bought Nectar and it is S buying A then the one to go would logically be the apg. But I think there is a good chance it will be blocked anyway, or they will be forced to either keep them separate or sell some off,

    Different species? Like S and N3tto ...

It may not happen due to competition rules, but it will be correct as Sky wouldn't broadcast news of this sort without it being reliable. It can impact stockmarkets, so it will likely be revealed to the market on Monday if not before - I believe news providers can get in trouble for market manipulation with certain sorts of news, so are more careful these days?

Yes been on all the news channels, announcement to be made 7AM on Monday before markets open.

I don't think sains or Asda are looking for more retail space for their brands so I think the customer may see little difference - perhaps Asda more sharply aimed at combatting aldi/lidl. In the background the big savings will be from joint purchasing and warehousing and supply where no doubt jobs will be lost.

This is probably mostly a defensive measure because of Amazon as much as aldi/lidl.
    I think....
