I have been exhausted just reading your updates! I bet you will be relieved to have it finally sorted.

I can't understand why some get better offers than others, other years our offers have been almost derisory, but then we haven't actually booked with someone else before. Also, when we got the lowest offer the person on the phone did mention that we had been with them for more than 21 years  But we have been with them for ages, we joined NTL because we had a very poor TV signal and wanted cable, at that time we had a couple of other cable boxes for the kids too but NTL didn't know that lol. Then when they first brought out dial-up and NTL gave it to their customers for free for ages, then onto the broadband. Unfortunately, in a few years we will no longer have to be concerned about our landline, we currently only bother with it because OH's mum needs an easy way to contact us and we cannot guarantee a decent signal on our mobiles here.

I am exhausted with it all too :(. Lesser folk would have just caved in and accepted the original V M offer, or switched and stayed with BeeTee ... but they are not Elite :A. They would, however, have had a much easier life for the past month :o.

We only have landline now as V M packages are cheaper including it - otherwise we would probably drop it too.

Have to admit, the life of an Elite is not always an easy one

What drives me up the wall though, is that the VM contract is in OH's name, so I can't deal with them on the phone, OH has to. Last time he accepted an offer that he thought was good, but to me was not as good as he thought. This time I made sure we investigated all the possibilities, he had phoned before to "check the contract had finished" and got an offer of £36 from them, to which he made to real reply. We then waited a while and simply applied to TalkTalk without even cancelling VM, we were actually quite surprised how quickly VM came back with the £19 offer.

Of course, it all starts again in under a year :(

It would be a LOT easier if they had to offer the same price to everyone, they would have to be competitive rather than treating some as cash cows.

I have that challenge then as Mrs Anon doesn't like negotiating . Could she authorise me to speak them/them to speak to me I wonder? If not I will have to sit next to her and she can phone under duress :D.

  • Just been thumbing through my FB and had the shock of my life - a video was running of an infinity pool

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvXU9DrTj5w

I actually flinch every time I watch it!

Didn't help that I had already practically gone into shock, say an ad for a bathroom colour changing mirror, though it might be handy for DD, clicked through and it was reduced from £188 to £80

    Who pays £80 for a 60cm circular mirror, let alone £188 :eek::eek::eek:

Hello welcome to the mad house, we often use to get together in the mornings for coffee and cake, but PD has gone awol but marmie is often around with the biscuits, but as you've probably noticed the wine starts flowing in the evening and TM sometimes puts on a lovely buffet...DM you will see lurking round borough market cheese stalls contemplating which cheese to bring to the party, zippy pops by with the morning papers from waitrose whilst Izzeyb is up 1/2 the night scouring msm, CF supplied the salad from the vast salad mines but sadly hes now retired . we all have our fair share of hospital beds and aches and pains, laughter and woe...but keep to the rules, no codes allowed on this thread as miss bubbs knows:p then you will be as mad as the rest of us :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and then you can join in snaps daily quiz :)

    :T:T:T

Adding to this we have from one extreme to another - with our thread having a red warning "We've received reports that some posts on here possibly advocate fraud" :(:(
to us collecting together vintage china so Rhos's DD could have the Wedding she deserved :A

Price collection wasn't updated at the time you first checked the receipt. Alternatively, if this had moved to Wednesday's data (probably not), it could be they had £6 SELs displayed, regardless of the real price, in half or more of their Ms with prices showing for the product at the time the collectors saw it - or it could be a minority of their stores giving £6 as the lowest price they found displayed if two or more different prices were showing elsewhere (unlikely as it has gone, it seems, from £6 to £8.50 with no other price in between that might have left some stores on the in-between price not yet changed their SELs by the time of the price collection visit). They could display any price at all and the APG will use the prices displayed regardless of what the actual price in M is. If they have ended up with £6 for M from Wednesday (seems unlikely to me, most likely the collection was still on Monday for this receipt), it will have £6 right through until Tuesday next week.

Thanks savvy, what a strange way to collect prices.
Can't understand why it came up as n/a against Sainsbobs either as it is on the website. Strange.
