BB update. Mrs Anon has placed an order for V M - currently £49 for Full House, £220 TCB (or even better £110 Q plus highest cashback guarantee). There were no issues signing up online (helped by them only recognising one name on the account) and a quick online chat during ordering got an exclusive £50 account credit too (slightly worried this will affect the Q Cashback, but this wasn't from another source, it was V M themselves). We will pay advanced line rental to take another £32 off as we will be with them for a year now. We decided to go back mainly to add the TV, as if all goes to plan it works out as less than £10 per month and Sky was coming nowhere near that at the moment.
The downside is we have to change our phone number after 19 years as it takes 10 working days to transfer back and that would be beyond the BeeTee cooling off, so I would then be liable for a major fee. Ah well, we never get calls on it anyway apart from sales (and we are ex-d!) as people who know us call mobiles. We also need to see if they will transfer the N T L email accounts to this account or we will lose those too (but again no big deal really as they are only a back up).
I will have to wait and see if it all works out as I reckon about £25 a month if it all falls into place ... this has taken up far too much time and caused too much stress this year though!.
BeeTee Wi-fi is much more stable around the house when it is working correctly, but does drop out (possibly just while it is settling). I will cancel that next week after V M goes live (I am not leaving a gap between services this time, that would be unbearable for a second time this month !).
Anon
I have been exhausted just reading your updates! I bet you will be relieved to have it finally sorted.
I can't understand why some get better offers than others, other years our offers have been almost derisory, but then we haven't actually booked with someone else before. Also, when we got the lowest offer the person on the phone did mention that we had been with them for more than 21 years :eek: But we have been with them for ages, we joined NTL because we had a very poor TV signal and wanted cable, at that time we had a couple of other cable boxes for the kids too but NTL didn't know that lol. Then when they first brought out dial-up and NTL gave it to their customers for free for ages, then onto the broadband. Unfortunately, in a few years we will no longer have to be concerned about our landline, we currently only bother with it because OH's mum needs an easy way to contact us and we cannot guarantee a decent signal on our mobiles here.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Not looking for advice as such but as always any advice gratefully received
I have a friend in Mcds that does HR , my other friend is a great sounding base and critiques any overly informative email replies

Bubbles for today Amazing, fantastic etc etc :j:j:j;
Well dome to tweets and di too I cant shift half a stone but I have over indulged in sweets
Boss is an a--e I have an interview on Monday about absence although I have suggested a phased return He has declined my offers and made lots of incorrect remarks.
I know I should just go but I am annoyed at being pushed plus I am a tad bored
I still have to reply and been advised to add that he has seriously damaged our working relationship with his comments :eek: that is the preferred tone rather than raising a formal grievance about my treatment from him alone
Could you get a note from your GP recommending phased return? Or does youe employer have occupational health who you can be referred to, to give their input?
You could ask for a 3rd party to be involved in the meeting.
At very least start a diary with dates/times and comments made.0
