The children's cards were down to 10p and boxed sets to 75p in A today, but I wasn't impressed by the quality so I left them there.

Hams and gammon joints were half price on the rtc, I knew I was too early for the big reductions but I wasn't hanging around in this weather, just called in as I happened to be passing.

Mince pies - the extra special ones, now 38p.

Thanks - I already use that for finding petrol when I'm at home. But they charge extra if you're travelling.

We found out from experience and some out-of-date websites that the cheapest near-the motorway petrol on the west side is Sainsburys (Preston Bamber Bridge) Tescos (Carlisle, Shirley/Solihull, Banbury). Can knock a fiver off a refuel.

Just wondered if anyone knew similar on the east side.
