    Hello savvy....how are you?

Are your Christmas preparations going according to plan?

Or is it still a bit like our house with people insisting on eating all the Christmas food:rotfl:

People are not actually eating all of the food; I seem to have done well on that this year. However I have let them have something already as we are not far away - otherwise we end up leaving everything till 25th December and of course I have bought far more than we would ever be able to consume on the one day - it then lasts weeks afterwards. So, we have started early.

As for whether the preparations are going to plan, I brought forward my shop that was supposed to be later today - I popped in very late in the day (was going to stay in all day) and saw the Heinz Ravioli was glitching. It thought it might have come out of the offer instore today and that was the reason for the full price online; however there seemed no evidence of this in my store - usually they have changed SELs to full price by now but this time they were still showing the mbuy so may be good today. So, as I have shopped on Saturday, it was not according to plan but seems to have been alright anyway.

I didn't have time to prepare a shop vs M - I just added this onto my vs T shop, although suspecting I would not get the best comp. this time. I am happy however as I have got the wombles that have more than paid for everything.

The Heinz was so good vs M that it actually turned the whole comp. to vs M:

5x Heinz Spaghetti with Sausages in Tomato Sauce (400g) £5.35 £3.00

So, I was doing a T shop, but failed overall and got vs M. It is also picking up £3 mbuy vs W although I understand that W's prices have now changed? They prevented me from targeting vs W as I can't quickly see what was on their offer on msm which had already changed but stick to vs M anyway - Northern Ireland unfortunately your best comp. is vs T.

The downside unfortunately on my shop:
    1x ASDA Farm Stores White Potatoes (2.5kg) £1.15 £1.18

Expensive potatoes:(. So, although I got the glitch, by using the Spaghetti Sausages trigger:D, the potatoes in the final bag I bought will not taste as nice as it otherwise would - I do not trust trying it on 26th December as that's on T's offer expiry date and this was my prepared shop that was supposed to be for today. I got six bags of them earlier (that will be stored in the fridge and keep for ages after the offer has gone) but had I put them on this shop only now it would have been better overall vs T.

As usual, I do not have the glitch items vs M on the list, as I was working from there being an invisible trigger (or otherwise a no good Batchelor's cup soup being used and four better items comparing) and therefore ignored everything on 5 for... in M as it was previously 4 comparing. However, I will add some items later (hopefully the 5 for £3 will still be on in A) that are online at the high A individual prices plus the Spaghetti plus Sausages.

Nice tasty Spaghetti Sausages now - I am not as keen on the Ravioli (and someone else here doesn't like that but does like the Spaghetti Sausages, sadly:rotfl: as it means we always need even more of them - they are the items that go:mad::rotfl:) although Ravioli (and/or Bolognese) and Spaghetti Sausages probably would get the mix and match for M.

I lived over in Tynedale Avenue. I have relations in North Shields and had relations in Marden Estate. Battle Hill too, some long standing friends of my mam and dad lived there  Susan, my dad used to drink in the Rising Sun but of course we left the area and moved to Forest Hall before moving further up on the Northumberland coast into a small fishing village.

Such a small world indeed, I wonder if our families knew each other, somewhere along the line? I wonder if my Uncle delivered your milk?

Round the corner to Warkworth Av, home of first marriage, so I expect uncle did. Early 70's and that's when I drank in R Sun

Best laid plans and all that:rotfl:

I thought I had tomorrow organised until DS arrived home tonight and declared he is making a meal for us tomorrow night. It’s an Asian dish with some obscure ingredients including stock made from chicken bones.

Could be a longer day than I anticipared:rotfl:

    Morning all.

TM, I always have this in the freezer. I make it in the slow cooker or in my Instant Pot (pressure cooker). But you can substitute a stock cube dissolved in water. Not as good but easier than making it on a busy day!

Whoopsies went out earlier yesterday so I missed them - just got a few. I also checked B&M for reduced decs, none in my store, and A had hardly any decs left and not reduced. (I price checked them.) I did get the last 3 B&H though. :)

Hoping for good whoopsies today perhaps!

    Morning paw sniffers:D

I haven’t cooked stock from bones for a while and that really isn’t the problem. I didnt want to cook one of my big chickens from the freezer as we have plenty of food out. So I’ll have to go out and get a small one. He’s adamant that we won’t use a stock cube and I’m indulging him as I love his new found interest in food:)

So I’m getting an early start on the day although I must say I’m dreading going out to the shops:o
