Ooo, never been to/seen advertised a poultry auction.

I'm sure you would enjoy it DM
I put a picture on FB, but looks like it upset the vegetarians/vegans so I've taken it down now.

They don't go particularly cheep ( as they are dead :rotfl: ) but they are top quality and you know which farm they come from and who reared them. The turkey I successfully bid for was slow grown, barn reared and dry plucked - worked out to about £4.75 per kilo. Although the Turkeys weights are still shouted out in lbs and bidding is for the total price of the bird.

When I was a bairn, my Dad used to go on the bus to Newcastle market to get our Christmas turkeys - but they were priced up rather than auctioned. He always came back very tipsy :o

We have priority pass as a benefit of our bank account. There is no way of pre-booking lounges. It's a real bug bear that they are often full, with a queue and those that have pre-booked are moved to the front . I wouldn;t mind if there was an option to pre-book but there isn't. If it wasn't that most of the time we are in the BA lounges I would make a complaint to the bank that a benefit isn't being delivered.

I used to work for a bank that provided these and it was a constant problem...we found out that there is pre-book for £5 but it can only be done on their website/helpline....most people wouldnt on the principle but if you really need it .....
just been thinking and just to mention that they are all franchised so each one has a different twist on the rules but I do remember one person was still refused entry but it was for dress code ....If I remember rightly Manchester was the worst one and caused us a lot of heartache.

Be extra careful reading the T&Cs of any offers - like an idiot I signed up to The T1mes digital on a £1 a month for £3 months offer - it was due to end in the next few days so I decided to cancel. I discover you cannot cancel online - you have to phone up for a hard sell. Once you get past that, you are told you have to cancel 15 days before next payment is taken or still pay the next payment

Yes I know it will have said this somewhere, and I have not noticed it, but I am now paying £26 for one month of access even though I have not hit the minimum term date yet (or rather they have now added another month onto the date online!) :(.

So much for all the savings over recent months - karma always gets me back :(.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure she'll get good value from it, she's very well-motivated like that. :)
