Good luck thoughts winging their way to you NANNYWINDOW!! Keep on counting to ten!! Sorry about your sad news. And so sudden when he thought he was all clear. The father of DD's friend was diagnosed with bladder cancer late September and 5 weeks later he had died. Nothing they could do for him except palliative care. A shock for them all.

DS texted to see if we were about for tea. And we were going to eat leftovers which won't stretch to 3 of us! Just got a chicken breast out to thaw which one of us will have to settle for with a few new potatoes and some salad.

St James rang to say they had arranged for a blood form for collection by Mr TA at our GP's. This needs doing before they can send an appointment for his CT scan. I am worrying about the result before he even gets the appointment for the scan. He went down this morning and not back yet. Looks like it's a busy phlebotomy clinic.

I hope all has gone well for DUMPLING and BECKY. Thinking of you both (HUGS)

After our frosty and foggy start the sun came out and we have blue blue sky. Lovely but still quite chilly .Take care all xx

Cross posting DUMPLING. I am pleased this morning went well and Becky has settled well. She sounds positive which is good.

Dumpling - I'm pleased you've got Becky settled....hopefully it will help her a lot. It's terrible that there just aren't enough mental health beds for young people and they have to travel so far. There was a TV documentary a while ago...one girl was so far from home that her mum had to fly back and forth to visit her.
    Take care
  • Afternoon all.

Dumpling, best wishes to Becky. Thinking of you. X

    Frosty this morning.

Small back at school today. So I was able to hoover through. Went to Sainsbury's and they had cat litter this time. So that's good news for my moggy. Picked up a new hand mixer and weighing scales in Argos. Had a look in the toy shop to try to get inspiration for presents for Small for Christmas. As he autistic & has global Developmental Delay, it's very difficult. He has 2 enormous boxes of cars. Mostly from his brother & cousin. He's had so many hand me down toys. He doesn't "need" anything. I saw some disco lights that he will like.

I've been naughty and have been sat down colouring for the last hour. Small should be home soon so I will then cook a chilli while he relaxes on his iPad after school.
    Best wishes all

    X

    Me again.
Just thought I'd update, we have heating/ hot water without the banging and clanging of the pump :j. Good job elderly neighbour is somewhat deaf and won't wear her hearing aid. Mr fix It has now taken the old one apart and can't understand how it was working, as it was completely blocked . Hopefully this one will last for another 30 years, although neither of us will still be around by then in any case !
Thanks TA I think your good luck wishes and my counting to 100 got me through :D. ( that plus the alcohol :rotfl:. )
Dumpling glad Becky has settled in. Now put your feet up and relax with as many cups of tea as necessary.
My tummy says it's tea time so I'm off to heat up the curry. All this hard work has made me hungry :rotfl:

Is anyone suffering from condensation at the moment in their homes? Ive been out this afternoon to buy condensation traps for most of my windows. The last 2 nights ive slept with the windows slightly open but the windowsills were still wet this morning. I know ive had the oven on a lot but even so ive not known it this bad before.

Spent a lovely morning with my Little Miss, i dont usually get anything done when she is here and today was no exception. My daughter told me when she came to pick her up she is thinking of working 30 hours a week when she goes back to work as they arent coping financially.
"We havent had a holiday this year" She moaned.
"What about the 10 days in Cornwall in September?" i answered "and the weekend with the girls in Liverpool?"
    Apparently they dont count.

I'm at a loss as to what to think or say....

Yes me. The past two mornings the windows have been wet almost to the top of the frames. I've been getting kitchen roll and drying them and the window sills off, I will have to get some condenstion traps tomorrow. I was trying to work out why it is so bad as well, I've got the trickle vents open on all of the windows.

Judi & Holly I think it must be the wet weather we have had recently that has moistened the air in our homes. We had condensation this morning but I put that down to DH's brewing session yesterday! :p

Also Judi will your DD expect you to look after Little Miss if she increases her hours, or does she factor in the cost of childcare into any sums about extra money?

Hi chums Dumpling I do hope Becky gets all the help she needs xx

Well our Frank is giving the big C a run for its money,he was moved to a hospice this morning and the Drs are amazed at how he just won't give in.I am going to see him tonight to say my farewells bless him
DD and her OH have been there every day since they came back from the US and his wife Margaret and their DD were at the hospital all night last night as the Drs wern't sure how long he has , possibly days now if that. As long as he is pain free and peaceful.

My youngest DD is still not very mobile and her foot is very stiff, I am hoping she will get more movement once the stitches are removed this Friday.

I have been rushing around doing all sorts of odd jobs today for us all, post office for DGS to post off a parcel for him ,the bank for Dd to deposit a cheque for her she has had in her bag for a month !!! then I dropped into my Health centre to drop off my presciption and booked my flu jab for tomorrow, still haven't had time to shop so luckily lots of freezer stuff is being used up. Made a strawberry jelly this morning and the blooming thing still hasn't set yet tonights dinner is from the freezer in about half an hour is a pork chop and some diced sweet potato's that I found a bag of at the back of the freezer I think Dd gave them to me ages ago, apparently the boys wern't keen as they said they were too spicy I have chucked them in the oven and see what they are like :) I am quite keen on spicy things .

right must dash as I want to have dinner then I will be driving up to London to the hospice

    Take care all

    JackieO xx
  • I'm another with condensation. Especially upstairs. I've never known it this bad before. I was blaming it on the sudden change in temperature as I don't know what else I could blame!

Obviously she will be grateful of any help she can get. Where is the rolls eyes smiley when you need it?

I cant see it working out without a great deal more help from both sets of Grandparents...
