Morning all,
Sending my best wishes to Dumpling and Becky and hoping for good results from the treatment my dears.
JackieO,glad to see you for an update & look after yourself as well as everyone else.
Oh Tru,glad you had a normal bonfire night.
I'm feeling very woolly headed as I slept in a chair alongside my poor pooch, she wouldnt even let me go into the back to the other sofa.Just as we thought the fireworks had finished some more started. The last ones I heard were at 2.30 and they were big bangs  selfish toss pots:mad:
I would go to bed after her walk but I've got DNieces birthday present being delivered today.I've had a shower so feel a bit better.
Cooked a small piece of brisket in the sc yesterday, just enough for the 4 of us.DS1 isnt usually a fan but said it was the best he'd had,as was the crumble I concocted from a pear,an apple,3 plums and some frozen blueberries I found in the bottom of the freezerToday will prob cook one of the small Aldee gammon joints.
Hope you all have a good day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning everyone,
Cold and frosty here in East Anglia, just enjoying toast and eggs before dropping the dogs off and catching the train to Edinburgh :j am really looking forward to seeing all the sights and exploring the city.
Only downside is that have a very sore finger, Lulu spooked at something when I was walking up to the field and pulled the rope through my hands, I caught and held her but it's obviously bruised it, have popped some arnica on it and hopefully that will help.
All positive thoughts to Dumpling and her family, hope today goes as well as possible. Also to Jackie and her family, hope Frank is able to be transferred to the hospice.
Have a good day folks x0 -
Quick check in from me, I'm working at home. OH and DS have gone up north (ish) for a medical appointment and then they will go on to see my mum. I will make something involving chicken for their dinner this evening.
Must go, best wishes for Dumpling ' s Becky and for Frank.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all,
A busy weekend which was ruined by me leaving my lights on at work and came out to a dead battery! Long story short, I only had to buy a new pair of jump leads - £12.
Not got much else to report for the time being. Made, or should I say tried to make, passion fruit souffles. Failed.
Football tonight. Left over meal from last nights steak pie for dinner tonight.
Lainey - Glasgow is much better. Although I am biased. Enjoy your trip0 -
Morning (((((((((( hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Thoughts with Dumpling and Becky this morning, hope everything goes well.
Yesterday was a marathon We left at 9.45 en route to the Fabric Guild, managed to spend £31 but will not need to go again. We then drove on to Market
Harborough to my niece. There were 20 of us altogether so quite a party.
It as good to meet up with Jo and her family, caught up with the gossip about various friends, school friends etc, they fly home on Thursday and will arrive there before they left here due to the time change. They are looking forward to getting back to the warmth. It's been very cold the last few days. We were both shattered when we got back, the noise of 20 people talking at once was heavy going. Even my ex managed to get himself there.
Last Monday clean to do, I also need to put the winter duvet on the bed, I woke up cold last night.
Will cook yesterday's supper tonight, roast pork, tatties etc........0 -
Morning,
RosyRed glad you and your dog made it through the fireworks. Hopefully there will be an end to them for you now that the weekend is over xx
It’s another clear, bright day here in Lancashire. I have two girls off again today as staff training day in school. We have just finished half term hols so they will be ready for return tomorrow. I have been off with them and well rested before work and the usual routine commences.
Was up prepping the Beef and horseradish casserole this morning at about 7.30. That’s all in the slow cooker now. Will pop to the shop later and get some crusty bread to go with it.
Popping round to my sister’s for a brew later to wish her happy birthday. Have to drop her present and cards off and will get her a box of chocks as well.
Have a good Monday x0 -
Morning
Bloomin freezing here today
Need to sort out a big pile of paperwork today each piece will no doubt lead to another thing to do but it has to be done.
Had such a lovely weekend with my friends in Edinburgh and Glasgow and the weather was so much better than here :T Lainey i'm sure you will have a fantastic time. Train was pretty slow on the way back due to a fatality on the lineputs the delay into perspective for sure
had a very strange taxi journey back from the station which started with him asking me if I loved Jesus then continued all the way home then he took pity on me and and gave me a booklet all about Jesus  was quite uncomfortable as I am not a religious person. Did think about reporting him to the company as I use them a lot but seemed a bit mean so I just laughed it off.
No idea on food today I think a good detox is in order after a weekend of food and wine.
Have as good a day as you can and keep warm :A0 -
Faith, our local scout's firework display is always held on the Saturday after the 5th (or on the 5th if it's the Saturday) so we'll have that on the 11th. We'll have DD's cockapoo (6 months old) but luckily she isn't bothered by the bangs or anything. I have to say that she is one of the most laid back pups I've ever met, which would confound people who think poodles are highly strung. She's three quarters poodle and has a lot of characteristics of the breed, which was what DD wanted.
Have to go food shopping today but that will be it. It's so beautiful I want to go for a bike ride too.0 -
Hello all
Dumpling I hope Becky settles in well today. Sending positive vibes your way.
Cranky I'm sorry that your leg has not healed yet. Sending healing vibes.
Had some sad news yesterday. The father of DD's friend passed away, diagnosed in March with tongue cancer, thought they had got it all but then re- diagnosed last week and it had spread to his lungs and spine. R.I.P. Dave.
On other news Mr Fix It, with much swearing, huffing and puffing has removed the heating pump. And broke my washing up bowl by dropping a wrench on it ! ( it was underneath catching the drips ). So have been out and purchased another pump, cost - £100 . Having snack lunch then he will fit the new one with my assistance , I'm the gofer :rotfl:. Now we will have to tighten our belts to cover the cost. But first I need to buy a new bowl !
Tea tonight is curry and rice out of the freezer.
Ok, apparently lunch break is over, so now off to watch Mr Fix It fit fit the new pump :rotfl:. Wish me luckFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good afternoon everyone :hello:
Just got back from taking Becky to the hospital. It was a four hour round trip so I am tired out now. The unit seems like a bright and cheerful place and the couple of staff I met were very nice. Becky had her positive head on today which made it a bit easier and I just hope and pray it will help her to be there.
I am going to collapse with a cup of tea now and just try to relax. Thank you for all your well wishes, it means a lot. Take care xx0
