hey all checking in , nearly at pay day ! this month has been a long one, for some reason we have gone over budget on our food bill ,it is a struggle to keep it under control especially in a month where we have to go 5 times, this next month will be 4 and hopefully easier to manage. Also our lawn mower has broken bought a new one from Argos put it up yesterday and the motor blew after one push of it ! so had to get money back , still need to get a new one will not be going back to Argos.

also the past month has been expensive in terms of birthdays , none this month I am hoping to be able to get down to about £277 on the Barclays by the end of May or even be able to pay it off !

we have decided no holiday this year , will be free days out instead and working on the house and garden, plenty to do there lets hope we get the weather!

car has mot and service on the 30th , for once i have the money in my sinking fund , fingers crossed it passes ok

still listening to Dave every day
    have a good Sunday all

thank the Lord the car passed it's MOT! , paid for that , a service and new back coil pack ,(what ever that is ) all out of my sinking fund for the car , and its still got £72 left in it, first time in a long time I have had the money saved for it and not put on a credit card !

on the other hand hubby's car insurance has gone up £17 per month ! he's put on a direct debit for 10 months which they have charged him 11 % interest for! its a company lease car and he has to have a certain type of insurance for it , which is expensive :(

Another CC paid off! the barclays is no more.

it's tough though real tough to keep doing this , the end is in sight for my last CC which if all goes according to plan should be gone by October, then we have to tackle DH's two cards, I don't even want to post those until my last one has gone i think psychologically i need to see the wins i have had with all my cards first .i'm just so tired of this though , and the prospect of no holiday this year is hard for us all

we are not going away this year but we have decided to do some day trips and treats instead , we have national trust membership so will visit some of those places where we can get in for free and take picnics also may get to a sea side one day if the weather is still good

will be able to get the Virgin down to just under £3000 by this next pay day then i plan to pause the debt snowball for our "holiday" time , then attack again , i should have the virgin one cleared by November , fingers crossed . i was hoping for some more extra hours at work but that hasnt materialised unfortunately

    hope all are well here

    hey all

I am now down to £2,205.89 on my remaining CC , i have taken on extra hours and now i am doing some over time so i hope that with that extra i will have cleared this at the end of October. Then I will start to address all my spare cash to husband's two CC , they will be added to my signature when I clear mine , the end is in sight!!

paid another £400 off the Virgin CC, have budgeted this month to pay another £700 from overtime payments will receive, then hope to pay the remainder next payday in a month's time. just changed to a 3 year fixed rate on the mortgage to give us some certainty in the face of a no deal brexit , we were on a life time tracker so now we dont have to worry about the rates going up .

i also hope that we will be debt free in just over 12 months or 18 months , that will be husband's 2 cc gone , and then will put some extra towards EF , collage fund for the youngest and remainder on overpaying the mortgage

will have £400 saved for christmas this year, its made such a difference budgeting and sticking to it , the sinking funds have worked really well and meant no more CC use!
