Accommodation HOTEL.COM

Options
I booked an apartment through hotel.com months ago.
After arriving on the street where the accommodation was there was no one available. The number given was not answering. I had assumed there would also be a clearly marked sign on the street but there wasn't.
We were sent no contact details for the owner for access until much later not earlier. The hotel.com customer service couldn't even contact the owner. I had to book my party into an expensive hotel without self catering.
After several goes through hotel com customer services I finally got a refund.
Hotel.com's main problem was getting hold of the owner.
I have now been trying to get compensation and extra expenses from them.

Anybody had dealings with Resolver.com or hotel.com.
I have gone through resolver first stage and escalated but this hasn't got me anywhere.
Any ideas .

I have used hotels.com many times with no problems. It is just a third party booking site.

Did you try to google the accommodation to look for reviews and contact details? I always check tripadvisor before booking any accommodation

Assume you mean hotels.com as hotel.com redirects there

Me too, never a problem. Maybe OP should have used them instead of hotel.com
  • Thanks. Luckily you have had no problems. Go help you when you do though.
Customer services (based in Mumbai) are no good and unless pushed will leave it to you to have to chase the hotel apartment holder as they have limited powers and resources.
Not having a good grip on their hotel apartment owners.

    Good advice:
I shall leave and check feedback if using other hotel type booking systems.

Think they just typo'd as hotel.com redirects to hotels.com

Well not a typo then, they just think it is a different url.

Go to it yourself, it redirects to hotels.com so clearly that is where they are talking about as I mentioned earlier.
