Although my advice so far has been poor, I'd opt for the above amount of £350 and request the person who made the mistake ask their manager to manage it. In addition to this I would suggest that if it costs £400 for said cases to be referred to the ombudsman and they are going to have to pay out £200 the bank are still saving £250.0

I can't exactly say to the bank that I want £350 as this will cost more to refer on.0 -

This is not accurate. Larger financial institutions do not pay on an individual complaint basis, the figure they each pay is not published but you can be sure it will be lower than the standard fee (which is £550 per complaint after the first 25).
I would settle for the £200 also.0 -
