Afternoon all
bit of a late one for me. The fence on the right hand side of our drive was being put up this morning. Quite a lot of noise involved so we went out for breakfast. Very enjoyable it was too. Then coffee with friends at 10.45. After that we went grocery shopping and arrived home as the work was well on it's way to being completed. result!
We've had a lazy afternoon. I have got a Victoria sandwich cooking as we speak, so that's DH happy. Fish , chips and mushy peas for tea,
Hope everyone has had a good day, hugs to worried and poorlies.
Have a good evening.

(((HUGS))) and posivibes for Dumpling, Holly, JackieO, Speky and anyone else who could use them this day.
I've been awol with yet another rotten migraine (I managed to post on a couple of threads yesterday but had to give up after that) and I have a batch of mouth ulcers and a cold sore. Bleurgh! I hate lupus and all the carp it throws at me. Oh, and I got eaten alive by mozzies or something similar in the garden the other day - I was clipping back the rosemary as the shed door kept catching on it.
I confess to struggling with my own MH currently; it's just the dogs keeping me going I think. The nightmares seem to be getting worse and worse; and I am simply sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.
I am aware there's nothing else can be done for me; I'm on the highest dose of moclobemide they can give me; and in my case, counselling simply isn't a viable option, even if it was available.
Sorry to drag the thread down; maybe I should lurk for a while til I can get my head together a bit.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all - a very late one from me too.
Ex-OH turned up after 9p.m last night and brought the usual chaos with him. He travels with his bag of cables, gadgets etc, happily he's fixed a lot of IT related issues here which makes me more tolerant of it all. He's got the bird cam and squirrel cam working again and sorted out wifi stuff for the garden. He may even tackle the wonky loo seat downstairs! Meanwhile he's gone out for the day and promising to bring back a Chinese takeaway. He does have some uses!!:rotfl:
We had breakfast at a local greasy spoon after which I bought some packaging to return my non-functioning bluetooth speaker. Bose sent me a return label for it to go to Brussels. Ex-OH took it with him on his travels to find a USP collection point 25 miles away. Why did I have to buy bubblewrap? Because I throw away the stuff I get in parcels.
I've spent my day tackling two tricky linked spreadsheets, one with fifteen worksheets. My mind is scrambled working out the formulae needed to make it all smooth. Didn't do any marking which means it's head down tomorrow and Sunday.
I've ordered a new phone for upstairs, this time with an answer machine. The portable phone is causing crackling and interference so it has to go. Nobody really rings me on the landline any more so having one downstairs is no longer important. The BT engineer closed off the extension as, again, it was causing problems. I'm the very last person on the line.
Ex-OH has his mobile service from BT and gets great reception and 4G from it. Mine is with 02 and I get barely two bars for the phone and GPRS for data so I'm thinking of changing but can't as I only signed a new 12 month contract in June this year.
Too much to think about - just waiting now for takeaway and wine!
All good thoughts and vibes to those who need them. Dumpling, you've had some great advice and hope that it all helps. I'm sure that you'll make sure your family is safe and well.
Happy Friday evening!0 -

Could you try a relaxation or visualisation exercise rather than have worries crowding you?
Dumpling
Fingers crossed that a space comes up for your dd and helps her.
Having a quiet lazy day after rushing round this week. Just found that there will be six of us this Sunday for lunch again but different mix of dds. Determined not to end up using all the pots and oven trays that I did last week so going shopping tomorrow for ingredients for a big steak and mushroom pie which I will make in a disposable tray and also use one for roast potatoes or veg.
Hoping to cook the beef and mushroom base tomorrow so I have less to do on Sunday. Might cheat by using bought pastry rather than making my own.

Lamewolf i know you dont 'do' hugs but will a couple of cakes do?
Gers i think its lovely that youve got a good relationship with your ex OH. You must still think a lot of each other.
One of the hounds rolled in something nasty earlier so they both have had a bath and a haircut and they are running round like puppies again. They do love a good haircut (even though they arent keen on actually having it done).
Grump(less) has washed and polished his motor and has transformed the interior into what is for him, more user friendly. Theres plenty of room for the hounds but no back seat for the Grandchildren which wont please their Mummy.Judi

I will heed your advice thank you. Ive tried to come off them before but the flood of emotions that hit me usually get me reaching for them again.

Ooh Csarina, I hadn't seen one of those, it might be on my Christmas list.
Dumpling, what a dilemma for you, if I lived closer I'd be happy to provide transport for you.
I had a trip to Kirkby Lonsdale and a bit of a mooch. I saw a beautiful lamp in an antiques shop but it was horrendously expensive. I was looking for a new kagoule but without success. Why do shops think that women who enjoy rambling are all size 14 or less. I think I'll have to go online.
Local people would not dream/could not afford to shop in their own home towns of Kirkby Lonsdale and the like...they are now just tourist meccas and mainly the preserve of the wealthy along with a few locals who have yet to sell up...sad but true.
If you want a new cagoule go to any out-doorsy shop many miles from the Dales/Lake District and pay half the price!
Dumpling..if your daughter wants to find help then welcome it. I know how hard it will be for you but it is a positive. Thinking of you and take good care of yourself as well as your family xxxx'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0
