I would like to join this year please! I have a pot ready and waiting, any and ALL spare change is going in. I'll use cash as much as possible & then accrue even more change that would just get lost in the abyss - either down the back of the sofa or in DHs pocket!! Also any extra left over from each months various budgets will go straight in.

I've already written the open date in my 2018 planner! Here's to a great challenge! :D
    May i join?
I'm actually saving my change to go towards my wedding,
I hope we get married sometime in 2020 but would love to see how much we/I can save in change
    ready for the big day.

Hi katiepants, and well done with the shrapnel! How about using an empty coffee jar or anything with a lid or that you can even make a temporary lid for? We’ve had members use old chocolate tins and the like; No, I’m not suggesting you buy and empty a tub of Roses or Quality St etc!!!!! :EasterBunHave a look round and see if there’s anything that will fit the bill for now. Good luck!

So sorry I'm so very late, SPC folks, but all down to a rough couple of days. :(I hope you're all enjoying the week so far. It's so good too see so many new members joining us, the rest of you nattering too as all helps everyone!!

I bet you’re not the only Sealed Pot member who’s eyes light up 👀 when folk jingle past you, jakes-mum, though I doubt there are many of us apart from you who would be almost literally wanting to pounce on the poor chap!!!! :rotfl:

What a wonderful and very thoughtful Uncle your DH has, bless him!
BTW I thought perhaps young Lily was getting better, so sorry to hear she’s been really rough poor little darling. I hope she’s soon much better.

Potted another £10 from eBay sales, not doing too badly at the moment. I want it to be a complete surprise when I open my pot but I can feel myself trying to make a mental note of how much I've added, must stop doing this.

I have now bought two new pots from Poundland, but made the mistake of putting some money into each of them.

I managed to retrieve the money from one by making the slot a bit larger and using some tweezers to take out one ten pound note and one five pound note, plus a few coins which I have now put into the other pot. Next thing I need to do is to find a place to store the second pot so it doesn't get mistakenly used again!

Oh, and a reminder to everyone that the old £10 notes are the next to be withdrawn - in March 2018.

    Evening all

I have been potting little bits and pieces to my pot. It still sounds quite hollow but at least it’s not empty :D

Ooh 200! A nice round number thank you! :D
Potted another few coins today - about 50p I think. I've also had £70 knocking about in the kitchen for a few weeks. If it isn't spent soon it will be gong in the pot! Don't know how happy DH will be about that, but he should have either spent it or banked it shouldn't he :rotfl:

Glad to read about everyone starting off with new pots :) I brought a new pot from Poundland for a fresh start. Potted £7.00 yesterday - left over from buying some yarn for knitting. Potted 50p today.
