IPlayer and new LG TV

    Ultimately if you dont succeed you could get something like a firestick and get the iplayer on your tv through that.

    Could do but the old man is pretty miffed he's spent money on a new TV, to watch Iplayer, that doesn't play ball. He's not the most technical at his age...

    Just tried iPlayer on my new LG for the first time, worked fine. Watching some rather stunning UHD test material from Blue Planet II.

    Had to update app first but didn't have to sign in, just confirm I had a licence.

    where is the UHD test material please? i can only locate the actual episode on iPlayer.

    Yeah, firesticks arent too expensive though. I wouldnt have suggested an expensive option knowing you had just spent alot of money on the tv.

    So he's signed in, and the TV is certified, still no joy, same error.

    Any other ideas?

    OP didn't confirm he's signed in did he?
    And the model 49UJ750V-ZB isn't on the certified list in the BBC link I posted.
