Hi not really sure what am doing here so I apologise if it's all wrong but need advice.
My husband had a Halifax mortgage started in 2007 then payed off in 2013. Never thought he was miss sold anything intill Martin Lewis said self employed people were told they had to have ppi, he's always been told that so he decided to look into it and contacted Halifax. After filling out questionnaire there have sent him a letter stating that he had tmpp but only had the life cover and critical illness cover because he didn't have the mortgage repayment cover it didn't count so they were unable to investigate it further is this right it? doesn't sound right to me hope someone can help thank you.

Why doesn't it sound right? If he didn't have payment protection then there is nothing to claim.0

No. What Martin Lewis said was that SOME self employed people were told that they had to take PPI that was useless to them. This was a part of the mis-selling scandal but doesn't apply to everyone.Cluelessheather wrote: »Never thought he was miss sold anything intill Martin Lewis said self employed people were told they had to have ppi,
Life and Critical Illness cover is not PPI. Clearly he wasn't mis-sold anything.Cluelessheather wrote: »After filling out questionnaire there have sent him a letter stating that he had tmpp but only had the life cover and critical illness cover

Just because I thought it was called total mortgage protection plan for a reason but thanks for the warn welcome I'll be sure not to post anything again.0

Basically, you put in a speculative complaint, without any prior research, based only a supposed comment by "Martin Lewis". You received clarification of this from the Bank as part of your rejection and yet still needed reassurance that this was correct.Cluelessheather wrote: »because I thought it was called total mortgage protection plan for a reason
If my response was too blunt then I apologise, but that doesn't change the fact that you complained about something you didn't have in the first place.0 -
TMPP is made up of 3 parts
The one part that had PPI on was mortgage repayment cover.
That's what my claim is in for.0 -
You complained about it and were rejected in 2012.consumers_revenge wrote: »

As on other threads, you have nowhere to go with this five years on.0 -
Took 10 mins out of my day rather than being on facebook :-)
If it goes nowhere - c'est la vie0 -
No one here is encouraged to re-submit an old complaint because it will tie up a bank complaint handler who could be otherwise occupied dealing with valid complaints. Your complaint dates from 2012!consumers_revenge wrote: »Took 10 mins out of my day rather than being on facebook :-)
You can expect a terse reiteration of your original rejection which will not give you access to the Ombudsman.0 -

BOOM £223.10 transferred into my bank without even a reply to me.
Glad I followed your 'advice'0
