What I would do is try the unistall options but I guess you have already done that.
Delete any files relating to the modem on drive C:
BACKUP THE REGISTRY
Go to registry START/"type"regedit BACKUP THE REGISTRY from menu then do a search for items related to your modems and delete them, TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ WHAT YOU WILL DELETE BEFORE YOU DO IT.
Reboot computer.
Try reinstalling drivers for only one device.
There is no option too backup registry
Not sure I wanna mess about with things I don't know.
The first modem went a couple of months ago but the AOL staff were most unhelpful when I phoned 12 times and I phoned 4 times today, 3 of them hung up when I asked to cancel  the other put me on hold and never came back
It keeps telling me the drivers have been re-installed but nothing happens
I'll keep trying AOL, it's a free number and I'll jam the lines If I have too!0 -
This happened to me the other day. They are moving over to a new broadband network, so they tell their customers that they'll need to install the new drivers. When a user logs into Aol, one of their pop ups flashes up giving the user no choice but to press the 'update now' button. It then installs the drivers, but when you look in 'Network connections' (from Contol Panel) a 'Globespan USB ADSL modem' is listed. The BT Voyager modem is listed as 'disconnected'. You then find that you can no longer connect to the service.
I figured that there was some driver incompatibility. So I did a system restore and was then able to access the Internet. I temporarily blocked the pop-ups, so it wouldn't force me to 'update now' when I next logged in. I left it about 10 days and then received an e-mail from them. This time the drivers were the right ones so I allowed it to install. I restarted the machine, added a new location and that was it. It's been working fine ever since. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
Tried system restore but wouldn't do it
If I re-installed windows would that help?
I'd lose files etc........but would I lose any programs I've downloaded/installed? i.e Ad-aware/AOL

I don't understand AOL, what are there motives? They have so many incompatabilies. Its crazy, all it seems to do is annoy exisitng customers.
And what does AOL offer that other ISP's dont?0 -
I don't understand them either.
Tried phoning again and was told I'd need to give them 1 months notice......I've been with them 16 months.....I assume it must be in T&C's.0 -
