Just after a bit of advice if I may.
My modem stopped working last night for some strange reason. It says it is installed but the drivers need updating.
I'm using dial up to download the drivers from the BT site, but I doubt this will work, it didn't work for my other modem from AOL that there upgrades messed up.
Where can I buy a cheap modem? Do PC World do cheap modems?
Finally, AOL say I must upgrade my modem as their network is upgrading......I'm not using their modem they sent as their last upgrades ruined it!.........can I use a different modem and NOT upgrade?
I don't want to buy a new modem, for it not to work after I upgrade with AOL!
I don't really want to call them again...the 12 calls I had last time were useless.....I even had 1 chap tell me to wait until Broadband was installed........15 months after I first had it installed! And he would not listen so I hung up
Thanks

Sorry to have edited your post but could not help with the other bits. I bought a very inexpensive modem on EBay, the bidding only got up 99p, plus £4.50 P & P. and its fine. Have a look!

I uninstalled the voyager 105 one, but it won't re-install, keeps asking me to re-boot.
As for the 100 one, I click uninstall but it won't allow me too.
Like yourself, I'm always having to re-install/Install and it takes a few attempts sometimes, but this time it's impossible0 -
Oh, yes, I still have the original disk but it doesn't find the drivers0

I give up, neither will load, one upgrades the drivers but nothing happens and if I spend £££'s on a new modem when I'm off work sick, then A) I'm wasting valuable cash and
it might not work out anyway
Will cancel AOL tomorrow cos they have buggered my modems again.....that's if flatmate will let me, she loves AOL! :mad:0 -

Sounds to me like you got hit by the storms we had the other day, your drivers maybe corrupted or even worse modem got spiked.
What I would do is try the unistall options but I guess you have already done that.
Delete any files relating to the modem on drive C:
BACKUP THE REGISTRY
Go to registry START/"type"regedit BACKUP THE REGISTRY from menu then do a search for items related to your modems and delete them, TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ WHAT YOU WILL DELETE BEFORE YOU DO IT.
Reboot computer.
Try reinstalling drivers for only one device.0
