Its a Jag though, it will be more luxurious, and you'll feel like a king in the soft leather interior.

It's really not, it's a dressed up Mondeo and after being in one it doesn't feel any more special than the Ford. It was the budget Jag at the time and still is.

I would pass on the X type, it diluted the name, big time.

If you are undecided try for a refund or hold off for more options.

Comparing a Jag to a Focus? As mentioned the Jag is a Mondeo underneath so your looking at two different sizes of car.

I like the MK3 Mondeo engine, chain driven so no belts to mess with.

    There's two auxiliary belts actually.
And both very easy to replace and ridiculously cheap

The X-Type is just a Mondeo with a different bodyshell though. It isn't a proper Jaguar. It is all Ford underneath.
My brother-in-law had an X-type, and didn't take it well when I pointed this out. He was a 'Jag Man', after all, and didn't suffer lesser vehicles.

Yep call an x type a Mondeo in a skirt and the jag community go up in arms. Straight on the defensive. Pretty funny.
