I did call the police but they refused to attend as it was a civil matter. Also no-one was around who could of blocked me in so they couldn't take it. I was not going to let them take my car with all my stuff in it and no I didn't fill it up for them!!! They were getting into the car with their tools anyway. The company held the details not Anglican who took the car.

Have you seen the original paperwork? Is there a CCA (Credit Agreement)

Head over to the DFW board and have a look at how to request a copy of the CCA. If they can't provide it within a certain amount of time, they can't legally enforce the the debt.

Have to say it all sounds very odd, something isn't quite right here!

    Absolutely....

The OP is either off their rocker or their partner isn't being completely honest with them.

Absolutely, I can read a MSE thread and instantly know all of the facts, and start calling other posters Billy Liars.

I have to admit we had a loan with LBL when desparate a couple of years ago and we had no problems, apart from the huge interest rate lol. Mind you after reading loads of horror stories on various forums I made sure we never missed a payment and settled it as soon as I could. This story does sound funny though, surely if you told the police you never had the loan they could treat is as theft.

I can summarise the Credit Agreement.

'We lend you money, if you don't pay it back, we take your car'

    SIMPLE

When I opened the boot to empty the car out he snatched my keys and took the key off before i could grab them. As i went to grab them back the keys fell on the floor with the keyring with my kids as babies on it which really upset me.

I dunno............. The company just has too many identity documents to claim its a fraud matter.

Even James Bond couldnt fake that many documents could he?... Drivers License, V5, Bank Details, Your Handwriting etc etc........

Are you 10000000% sure your husband didnt take the loan out?... It would explain alot and you could move over to the DFW board for some realy useful advice on straightening things out.

Apologies, you are right, to accuse the partner of lying is not acceptable....however lets look at the options:

Option 1) The OP actualy did take out the loan and "forgot"
Option 2) The partner took out the loan and either forgot or has issues with telling the OP
    Option 3) Some mystery person:
    a) Has a key to the house and entered.
    b) Took the V5
    c) Borrowed all the other documents for photocopying - later returned.
    d) Forged the contract using a great copy of the OP's handwriting
    e) Didn't bother nicking anything else from the flat.
    f) All for a fraud of £593

Lets all please wake up and smell the coffee!

Maybe, maybe not. Things like this do happen, often committed by friends/ family, equally, I have known people try and deny taking out a loan. By all means question the facts, but just accusing OP of being a liar is a bit naughty.
