My solicitor has tried an injunction but they will not help in any shape or form, my car is now gone for auction and to be honest they can have it but thats all they are getting. Yes I do believe i am a victim of identity theft and have spoken to the police and Log Book Loans but their answer was I took the loan so they take the car!
Why on earth would you allow this firm to take your car if you never took a loan with them? You sound like you've given up and just let them have your car for nothing??? If you believe you are an identity theft victim you could have insisted they present to you ALL original paperwork and had it verified by the DVLA and the police.
This all sounds a bit strange to me!

Well I have received a letter from LOGBOOK LOANS informing me that they sold my car for ...... £47.77 yes thats right £47.77. My solicitor has told them that the letter should of gone to her and not me and asked for proof of sale due to the low amount. This was done at the end of November and we are still waiting.
The excuse was that the damage reduced the price and thats the best offer. I had my car valued shortly before and was offered £1000 trade in because of the damage otherwise I would of got £1500!!! The damage is on the passengers side wing and bonnet but easily fixed.
I'm really fed up because they say they will send debt collectors round for the rest of the amount which is £1617!! I've been told that they have no right to enter my property and takes goods as the loan was secured on the car.
LET BATTLE COMMENCE I'm in the mood for a good old fight at the mo.
I hope you all had a lovelly Christmas and wish you all a very Happy New Year.0 -

When I opened the boot to empty the car out he snatched my keys and took the key off before i could grab them. As i went to grab them back the keys fell on the floor with the keyring with my kids as babies on it which really upset me. :mad:0 -
thats bad, good luck, hope you get it sorted.0

just wondering why you where emptying the car out for them!if you did not have the loan! logik says you would have told them to wait why you phone the police, sounds like you gave them the car! i know of a work college who had a simalar thing happened but he contacted the police before the poeple touched the car and got his nieghbours to block the car in!!!
did you fill the tank for them as well!!!!!0 -
It does all sound rather odd. If someone turned up asking for my car for a loan or company I'd never heard of they would've had the door in their face, followed shortly by a call to the Police. I wouldn't go out and start cleaning it out for them.
Also, if they had a copy of your Bank statement, then is that not where the money would've been paid into..? (Or do they issue cheques? If so, find out where & to whom the cheque was cashed)
Plus the handwriting is yours you say, not something an identity thief would concern him/herself with - handwriting isn't checked, just signature.
Something doesn't add up.0 -
