Log Book Loans

STAY WELL CLEAR.

I had my car taken by this bunch of crooks last monday morning at 8.10am for a loan that i never had. However they have all the info and my V5 and it all looks like my writing. They even have a copy of my details such as driving license, phone bill, bank statement.

I have solicitors working on it but it has been the 10days and now my car is going to be sold. They are a bunch of crooks and never deal with them as they are rude, nasty and don't give a dam. I would rather deal with a loan shark then these people.

I was going to smash my car up with an axe as they drove off in it but my partner stopped me. I got to admit the car in my car looked scared when i came out with the axe.:T STAY CLEAR OF LOG BOOK LOANS

sounds to me like you have suffered identity theft.

you say they have a copy of your licence, phone bill, bank statment,V5 info and what looks like your writing.

what more wuold you expect them to ask for to verify for a loan?
  • Was thinking of using them for a short term...but now...not sure. There are lots of bad experiences on tis forum and the Consumer Action group site. Anyone with any positive experiences of tis company of Autologbook loans?
  • I would arrange for an injuncton to stop them selling the car in the meantime, and then for you and your solicitor to take them to court...

Why would anyone use this sort of organisation? Is it a life or death situation?!

    Just a quick question,

How did they have the log book?...

My log book is in my house. You can only have one and if they got one by fraud im sure the DVLA would be please to know.

How much was the loan for? Cant be much because log book loans deal with the lower end of the market. I think they have a max of £2500.

This is one for your solicitor. If you feel its a case if identity fraud then you need to contact police, get an incident number and make sure the log book lads know they have been dupped. Cant see then selling your car as if the log book is a fake one then... Well its still your car so they have just stolen it lol!

Dont blame log book loans! If the above is true then they are as much the victim as you. Eventually they will have to admit they have lost theyre money.

How have they managed to get your driving license???

Surley if you expain to the company that your in dispute then they should be able to put a hold on selling your car until they look into the situation??

Has your partner not taken out the loan ??? Just a question tho. You can never be too careful these days.

My solicitor has tried an injunction but they will not help in any shape or form, my car is now gone for auction and to be honest they can have it but thats all they are getting. Yes I do believe i am a victim of identity theft and have spoken to the police and Log Book Loans but their answer was I took the loan so they take the car! I am fighting a losing battle but if they turn up on my doorstep demanding more they will be told where to go in no uncertain terms.

My partner did not take out a loan as that was the first question i asked him, I live in council flat and someone entered my flat using a key so i demanded the council change the locks like they said they had when i first moved in. I haven't been able to find my log book for ages and now I know the reason, this very dodgy, rude and unhelpful bunch of crooks have it. The loan was for £593 and to get my car back i need to pay £1700 :(. Why should I pay if i never had the money in the first place.

This loan company was featured on our local TV recently.

A man who's only income was IB and DLA was given a loan. He then fell behind on the payments so they rolled it up in to another loan and bigger payments which again he could not pay. Then he had an accident in the car.

He thought that he could pay off log book loans and then have some left over to get another car. Wrong as they owned the car the insurance money was paid to Log book loans and he never saw a penny of it.
