Good deal indeed, showing up as £799 online but not available for collection or delivery, well done, isn't it a little too big for uni ?

Might be a bit big, but an excellent bargain.

Don't forget to buy a TV licence though, as you NEED one to own a laptop with a TV tuner, even if you haven't got another TV and don't use the lappy to watch tv.

Im not sure thats true is it? If you dont have an ariel and therefore never use it (genuinely) - if its non removable then it would be unfair to charge a TV license. Besides - they wouldnt know if you dont use it as how would they "detect" your using it when you arent? :o

    From the licencing website:

    "
We can use a hand-held scanning device. These measure both the direction and strength of a signal, making it easy for us to locate TVs - even in the hardest to reach places.spacer.gifspacer.gifgrey2.gif"

So if you dont use it they wont know you have one!

They may not be able to "detect" it but they normally take details off you when you buy anything with a TV tuner in it and these have to be sent off to TV licensing - chances are you gave them "home" details rather than "uni" details though.

Phoned PC World. They cant tell me if my store has any as its a clearance laptop and they cant put me through to the store. Thats good customer service for ya!

Will just have to go but there are 3 possibilities in my area! Why cant you phone the store direct??? :(

withabix was pointing out a valid legal aspect, if it has a built in TV tuner it needs a licence whether used or not. Fairness doesn't come into it. If demon_666 chooses to ignore the law that's up to him/her.
