One IN, but it was a freebie - Gilette razor. Will use when my current one is blunt.

Some UUs though, mostly mini ones:
    - L'Occitane Verbena Shampoo 30ml. WNB - from a hotel a couple of weeks ago. Finished off this week to give my hair a break from my usual shampoo and fight buildup. Very nice shampoo, would happily use again - just not pay for it :)
    - Merumaya melting cleansing balm, sachet. WNB - though very nice, and effective. Will switch back to plain oils once I'm through my remaining cleansers.
    - Rodial extreme acid rush peel. WNB - not sure what it actually did. Though my skin seems alright at the moment.
    - Clarins Exta-firming tightening Lift serum mini. WNB - ok, nothing special.
    - Clarins Mission Perfection serum mini. WMB - now this was nice. Sat very nicely on my skin. I'll investigate....
    PP list:
    - Laura Geller B&B foundation – carried over from October
    - [STRIKE]Unani cleansing milk – carried over from October[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]2[/STRIKE] 1 mini cleansers
    - [STRIKE]2[/STRIKE] 1 face masks
    - Toni & Guy hair mask
    - Body Shop body butter
    - Helena Rubenstein eye makeup remover
    - [STRIKE]3[/STRIKE] 1 clarins sample serums
    - Body scrub

    And 5 by Christmas:
    - [STRIKE]Seche Vite[/STRIKE]
    - Elemis pro-collagen eye treatment
    - Elemis night recovery cream-oil
    - [STRIKE]Murad invisiblur primer[/STRIKE]
    - a hand cream (I'm soooo bad at using hand creams!)

I'm glad you posted this as I was wavering but after seeing the full contents decided against it. I was in there today and bought a skirt and some Spanx pants so did qualify for it too.

I would like to join in this challenge. I am hoping not to buy any toiletries at all in 2018, the only exception to this that I know of will be suncream.

One thing I need to know is when is it acceptable to throw things away rather than using them? I have items that I have held for so long that I don't really remember buying them.

I never seem to use hair conditioner but I have a few part used ones as well as some never used. It seems a waste to throw them out - maybe I should persevere and use them up.

I also have several body lotions, some basic and some really nice ones.
I try to use up the basic ones and get them out of the way but I really want to use the nice ones.

    Any advice welcome.

    Welcome frogletina!

I personally only throw out things that have gone off, or I really hate using (sometimes life is too short!) - maybe they've separated, or smell. Unless you're running out of space, then you might feel better just doing a big mass clear out!

Body lotions - maybe alternate between using a basic one then a nice one? Using a nice one could be a reward for finishing a basic one. Plus it'll help you work out if the nice ones really are that much better.

Conditioner - personally I'd work through each of the open bottles first, it'll feel great when each ones goes. Or you could decant several open ones into other bottles to make a smaller number of fuller ones, which might look easier to get through? Also try using open conditioner as a hair mask before washing, to get through it faster.

I have just gone through them, and found that it's not as bad as I thought as I must have cleared more than I thought last time.

I like this idea. I am already doing this with shower gels/creams. Using basic ones up when I'm just at home, but if I'm on going out in the evening I am using the more expensive ones.

Thanks. I've checked and I am down to two opened ones, and three full ones. Also I have 2 hair treatment ones, one opened. I will use the open one up alternately with the open conditioner. My hair usually is in good condition - I bought the conditioners when they were on offer (John Frieda Blonde) even then they were not cheap. All of my John Frieda shampoos have been used up and I am now using a herbal shampoo which I bought back from Turkey. Not expensive but it keeps my hair lovely

Thank you for the welcome fixx

I have just thrown out an old lipstick and eye shadow which I have kept from the days I wore make up, which was a long time ago.

My favourite hand wash is not being sold any more but I've got a couple of bottles of the same bath cream (also discontinued) which seems to contain exactly the same ingredients so I will decant those into my last couple of hand wash bottles, and when that has gone I've got 8 bars of soap (since discontinued) which I bought when the hand wash was discontinued. Can you tell I'm a bit obsessed!

    Frogletina.
My skincare guru Caroline Hurons advocates using special body lotions down as far, and including the b00bs and run of the mill ones for the rest of one's body. Also I use any creams that I don't really like on my feet.

I often dilute hair conditioner with water and use as a fabric softener for my wool and cashmere jumpers and like fixx use it as a pre shampoo treatment:money:

    Should read Hirons not Hurons!!!
