Did you book a true package holiday or direct with the hotel?

The OP has already said she booked direct.
so why did the hotel still allow us to check in at that hotel, we booked direct with the hotel.
  • Priority is for us all to get checked out and we understand why we were moved to another hotel, my point, which I guess I didn't make clear is that the hotel suspected Legionnaires disease may affect their customers health before we arrived, they knew there was several cases around the area of the hotel, 18 to be precise, they choose not to tell us or suggest my husband get checked out, a member of staff had informed a friend that they are going to have to shut down the hotel due to the disease being suspected in the hotel and that was on the 13/10, why did they leave it open so long.

I appreciate a hotel can't just shut down but when there's a case like this, surely its in the customers best interests to move them, the travel agents did the right thing and so should Sol.

What does your travel insurance company say about all this?

It probably won't belong before someone decides to get together guests who may have been affected and consider starting legal action, search forums and social media if you fancy joining.

  • Loanranger, good point, travel insurance said to take it up with the hotel but to keep them informed, are they just palming me off?
  • RichardW I'm sure someone will, I'm in touch with 2 other holiday makers, 1 of which was moved before they checked in because they booked with On the beach, the other family are all feeling fine and I think they are relying on me to check everything out before they complain, they too understand why we was moved but not why it took so long.

    Thank you for your advice.

What would you expect your travel insurers to do?

Thank you, I had already seen this, it gives some great advice. Getting myself checked out today, hoping I just have a bug but can not help but worry.
