Marks question was "has anybody seen anything about the BG All Online Jan 2019 tariff?".

Being a forum about saving money on this sort of thing, those of us who have looked at the tariff through our Cheap Energy Club accounts have come to the conclusion that its expensive compared to the sort of tariffs we're all on. That's the main gist of it, but as the OP hasn't told us how much energy he uses per year per utility (his follow-up post suggests a payment of £64 a month - we have to presume that's dual-fuel and that makes him a low-ish user) so we have to guess whether that's a good tariff for him. Based on our own experiences of switching most of us are of the opinion that's an expensive tariff.

The difference between a payment of £57 and £64 a month is over a year £84 and the other point is even with the BG cashback that' still paying £59 more a year than you need to.

The tariff itself isn't any difference to anything BG has offered before and in true course it will come down to the efficiently of how things run, customer service and what happens when things go wrong. If the OP wants to go for it, that's up to them, but again this is a money saving website and forum and if somebody here asks about something that is seen as overpriced, no two bones will be cut about it.

And any decent web forum goes off on tangents regularly, its half the fun :)

The OP needs to read this week's MSE Newsletter about British Gas and cheaper tariffs.

OK then, in answer to OP's question. No, it is not on the BG website as an available tariff that you can switch to and, according to OFGEM regulations, it does not have to be.

Perhaps a visit to Specsavers would be useful.

Full details of the BG All Online Jan 2019 tariff is available on the BG website but I am unable to provide a direct link to this information.

Info on this tariff can be found on the BG website at /energy/gas-and-electricity/tariffs-a-z.html

Info on the Tariff (rates, units etc.) may well be online, but it is not a selectable tariff on their website to sign up to
  • Apparently you can only access it via the MSE website, it'll be on the BG Website in Two Days according to the BG Chat Help.
  • Just found it you need to go onto the MSE Cheap Energy Club
  • Crikey, who'd have thought such a simple question would illicit such an out pouring of aggression?

Thank you to those who attempted to help, I can see that for the rest it is a case of "Do as I do or you're an idiot."

I'm sure many of you can make great savings in your energy costs by choosing certain suppliers, I chose to not waste the energy in the first place and keep my bills low.

Today I saved £120 on my car insurance, I'm happy with that.

    Regards

    Mark

The new tariff comes up as the 2nd best tariff for my usage on USWITCH.
Think I will have a look into this tariff as I'm already with BG

For me an elec SC of +3.3p / unit cost of +2.88p and gas SC of -1.26p / unit charge of +1.24p there is no hope of it being competitive whatever my use.
