What help are you getting from your doctor/other medical professionals? Do you have any longstanding illn as/disability or is this a more recent issue?
If you're thinking of stopping work and going onto ESA then you will need evidence of ongoing health issues to back up your claim. Otherwise it's JSA and a sanction for giving up a job without a valid reason.
Does your work pay sickpay above the statutory minimum?
You really need to give a bit more information to get any sort of relevant answer. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Would it be possible to reduce the hours you work currently? My wife was struggling to do full time hours, and also has had a course of b12 injections. She has reduced to 4 days per week and has found it makes a huge difference to her.0

My friend has fibro and was awarded pip to help with the issues it causes her.It is now a recognised disability so your employers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments i.e.shorter hours.
You could tell your doctor how much you are struggling.I have ME & my doctor wrote a letter recommending I switch to part time hours. My company weren't happy & took so long that I collapsed & ended up in hospital.I would hope yours would be nicer because you sound like you are struggling a lot. Your doctor might write you a sickline if you explain how bad you are just now. Maybe till you vitb12 injections start to help. Then you wld get ssp or company sick pay.Housing benefit if your income is low enough. I was forced to resign from my job eventually after 9 months off sick but I wasn't penalised by esa because they said it was obvious I had given up work due to ill health.I guess it really depends on whether your doctor is supportive- which they should be.
You should apply for pip really as you clearly are affected in every day life by your illness.Could you find a fibro/me support group for help/advice to fill in your form? Someone helped my friend to fill in hers.
Another thing, someone in my support group suggested I try 300mg of magnesium citrate to help with muscle pain/restless legs & insomnia ,characteristics of both me & fibro. It has worked tremendously well.
I hope you get well again soon x0 -

I'm surprise that a course was given. I had a few weeks with injections on alternate days, after which our GP practice's nurse assumed they would end, but my neurologist said that they had to be for life and given every three months or my B12 level would plummet again.

Two things to consider about if/when to apply for ESA.
1. You need to be careful of timeframes. If you wouldn't qualify for income based then you need to apply while your NI credits are relevant. I went to a talk about benefits where it was stated a lot of people struggle on, reducing hours gradually, then find they're not entitled to any ESA.
2. Universal Credit, which is generally considered 'worse' than ESA financially. Check when it's being fully rolled out in your area.
Of course I'm not advocating giving up work just for benefits, just giving information.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Honestly My advise is if you can still work spend as much of that time as possible clearing debts (based on your signature) as going on benefits can make you default on your debts often people dont get them straight away (some cases have been months or even over a year) And if you have to make payments on time on what will probably lower pay than your use to you can find your debt spiraling out of control0

If you go on benefits, don't assume that housing benefit will cover all your rent.0

I'm surprised too. Like yourself i have a B12 deficency and when i first found out i had to have those injections weekly for the first few weeks. Now i have them every 3 months. When it's about 3 weeks till my next, i can certainly feel it. They are for life and not just a course and that's it.I'm surprise that a course was given. I had a few weeks with injections on alternate days, after which our GP practice's nurse assumed they would end, but my neurologist said that they had to be for life and given every three months or my B12 level would plummet again.0
