  • Isn't it a bit short? the one GP linked to is only 82cm long. My roll of translucent natural paper (greaseproof to thee and me) is 85cm. I'm off to check if they do a longer one....

Aha! this might work for us http://www.argos.co.uk/product/3594740 as we have several of those really long rolls (by which I mean wide, but long when they are rolled up iyswim)

That must be some impressive roll of greaseproof paper - I measured my longest roll just to be sure and it's only 65cm.

You could wrap the world in that thing! :rotfl:

    Our Wh0lefoods is closing :(

I think middle aged and middle class pretty much sums up this thread. I'm also willing to admit to fitting quite neatly into the JAM grouping, if that adds any extra comedy? :D

Yesterday was basically my dream day out. We came moments from drawing with the best rugby team in the world, I spent a whole day with Mrs E and we managed to get a posh burger and sushi  I won't clam it was a cheapo, but what a day :)

Edit: Now that I think about it, am I not a millennial? 35 next year.

Edit the second: £0.99 paid off CC
  • I think I must stay near you Edinburgher. There are a few fb petitions on the go to stop the closure of Wh0lefoods, don't know if you've seen them? Bit out of my usual price range, but some folk are gutted. I've heard it's meant to be M & S going in to that site, which I would use a lot more.

I've seen them, but haven't signed any as it will be a business decision (i.e. not making enough money).

Doubt I'd use a M&S myself, not with W@itrose up the road in Newton Mearns.

Yes indeedy! It is used as an overlay on brown paper when we are brainstorming. We unroll the brown paper, stick it on the table or on a wall and record stuff on it (pens and post-it notes) then overlay it with greaseproof for another set of thoughts or inputs so we can remember who said what, and at what stage. For a woman who likes stationery it is fantastic! :o

Oh my goodness, I fit into the middle-aged bracket  But I'm fighting it! Oh yes, I'm fighting it :D :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: You'll be pleased to know that this is just all about trying to halt the accompanying M-A "spread" by staying fit & healthy and being too tight to buy the dA1ly Wa1l :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyhoo, I'm here to collect my membership no. for the "wrapping paper box" owners club, as I picked mine up from Arg0$ this arvo :D smuggetty smug smug smugness :D:D:rotfl: [very much pulling own leg there!] If it's any help to anyone, the paper inside the box states that it is specifically for 70cm long wrapping paper. If you are a middle-aged don't wanabee, like what I am, and you buy your wrapping paper from h0m3 barg1ns, then the wrapping paper will fit :D I'm thinking brown paper, lining paper and BG's drawing paper rolls will get dumped in there too :D

I only saw a bit of the rugger yesterday (on TV) ed - but again, it looked like a good un, with Scotland showing fantastic skill and belief. Very, very watchable. glad you had a good time with Mrs E. That is what life should be about, whatever your age. People are important, plastic boxes..... less so ;)

Now is the time to start scouting for farm shops (not Farm Shops) and support your local farmers.

And think of the food miles.

    ** End of PSA...** :p:p

    What's JAM in this context?
Edit: Now that I think about it, am I not a millennial? 35 next year.

No. You're very firmly Generation Y. Be thankful, the millennials are a pretty bad disappointment when looked at from a macro perspective.

  • Millenials get a load of flack but I'm not sure it is deserved.

Well done Ed for looking after Mrs E.
