Just being nosy really, we are getting married in June 2018 and our is costing £16,000 for everything.
All being paid for cash, no borrowing
Extremely lucky that my family are contributing £4,000, his family also £4,000 and we're saving the rest.
How much was yours?
Did your families contribute anything?
Did you borrow any? (Credit card, loan etc)

~£9000 including honeymoon.
£5000 gift from parent.
Accomodation for all guests (80) for the weekend. Most meals provided too.
It was quite DIY, we had to arrange all aspects of the wedding. It was good fun planning. A lot of effort for a day i can barely remember though (im a bloke).
Put most of it on credit card for protection. Got a small balance to settle but not in a rush with another 18 months of interest free. And theres money there should it be needed.0 -
How much was yours? £2,500
Did your families contribute anything? My parents brought my dress, very luckily ended up with a far nicer dress than had we been funding it
Did you borrow any? NoThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
Can't remember how much it was (27 yrs ago) but it wasn't extravagant even by the 90's standards.
Parents & parents in law paid for some & we paid for the rest.
Borrowing to pay for a wedding was unheard of then.0 -
Our wedding reception meal. (Three courses ) was 12/6 a head. (62.5 pence.)
Mind you it was 66 years ago.
Best of luck for the future.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Around 2.5k, it was 3k, but we sold some stuff afterwards.
All documented on the wedding board here on MSE too.
Families didn't contribute and no borrowing.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
£2.5k all in ... no borrowing and no contributions. We could of afforded much more but never saw the sense in spending more0

How much was yours? Altogether we spent £1050 - that was a mid week wedding with 12 guests (immediate family) and a 3 course meal afterwards, all at a local hotel. That was also including my dress, DH's suit, son's suit, bridesmaid's dress, flowers, photographer and cake. Couldn't justify spending thousands on one day, not for us.
Did your families contribute anything? No but we did get euroes for our honeymoon
Did you borrow any? (Credit card, loan etc) No0 -
Everything, even a meal for 13, cost £500.0

Rings £900, my dress £60, registry office I think around £200, meal after for us and our 2 chosen guests plus associated families £300, him new jeans and a shirt £70, party for 120 2 months down the line so only paid for DJ and buffet £600. Photography free for both wedding (friend did them) and party (stepson did them). No honeymoon, we're nit big holidayers. This was 8 years ago.
