Samsung TV 40" disappointed with sound.

I have been looking at this TV, but on the TV review sites, most of them say the same thing- poor sound, recommend a surround sound system. Has anyone any views on which is a good 40" TV? Apparently Sony use Samsung technology in their TV's, so is the sound poor on those too?
The danger is what sounds 'good' to some people might actually be relatively naff in the great scheme of things.
Anyone seen any independent reviews?0 -
I sell LCD's AND Plasma's every other day in my current job and would say the sound on some is terrible, on others it's ok, but none of them have great sound. To my mind if you are thinking of splashing out ££££'s on one of the latest HD tv's then it is definately worth getting a cinema kit for the best experience."Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

I have been told that any surround sound system would be compatable, however, I already have at leat six remotes, is it really right that unless I buy the Samsung surround at £349 ish that I will need to use yet another?
Thanks, everyoneFiliss0 -
Had the same problem, so picked up a £30 surround system in Asda, and it's been brilliant. Yes, I know, go ahead and snigger, people pay thousands for surround sound, but trust me, even with this level of investment nowadays, the improvement is amazing. The downside of course is the wires, but I didn't find it a big problem, just tucked them under the carpet. I only bought it as an interim, while I researched complex audio systems, amplifiers, speaker systems, etc., but really there just doesn't seem to be any justification. Just after I bought it, I stuck on the dvd of "Master and Commander," and I was ducking cannon balls flying from one corner of the room to the other, great. Just a thought, really. I just think that, for a very small additional investment, you could have very acceptable sound. What have you got to lose, £25 to £30. You might be surprised.0

If your worried about excessive remotes then buy an all in one , preff one that has programmable keys like the Logitech 785 Universal Remote Control Harmony

Plenty on the market to choose from0
