I was an N&P customer, too - Gold Classic account (recommended via an mse thread) and have not found a suitable replacement.

For a revolving door £500 mthly, no fixed date required either, I valued the fee-free card usage/cash withdrawals worldwide, among other benefits.

Does any other bank now offer this fee-free service? Main bank account elsewhere doesn't.

    OAP.

I must admit, Clydesdale's web interface is pretty basic and it took over a day for some transactions to appear, which doesn't happen in any other systems that I use. The app appears to be fully functional but I need sunglasses to view it. Halifax and Lloyds do this best, IMO, and I will miss the former, although wouldn't rule out a move back to them eventually.

Try Starling Bank. No problems had from me so far with it. Didn't need to switch to it so left my N&P account open for the time being, though now need to switch it elsewhere.

    Thanks bob81.

Will look into that, but closed my nandp account as required, with Branch closure.

Had popped in from time to time, just to ask after likeable staff, who were in shock when told jobs lost..

  • Overseas, I use Nationwide Select Credit Card for purchases and FlexPlus current account for ATM withdrawals. Get worldwide fee free transactions. Not sure if their non premium current accounts work the same.

If you want a fee free overseas purchases and cash, try Starling Bank (assuming you have a smartphone to run it on). They are excellent. You open it by downloading the app and applying there - takes a few mins.
  • I'm using Starling now too - mainly for foreign transactions but it's got some nice features - like stopping your card [through your phone] if you can't find it and then unstopping when it turns up
