Opening current account specifically to use with the Current Account Switch Service

Options
Hi all,

I’m opening a new account with Clydesdale, but I’ve just realised I don’t have a current account with another bank that I’m willing to fully watch over.

I can open a current account pretty much instantly with my current bank, is there anything to say I can’t open an account with the view of using it straight away as the account to be closed during the switch service?

Thanks for your help!

No, there's nothing stopping you from doing this, assuming your credit file can withstand another credit search.

I opened up a Santander basic account some time ago (when I already had some Santander products) and it only appeared as a soft search in my credit history, which I thought was very good indeed!
