All I want is a quick laptop but I am getting really confused but the huge range out there.
Can anyone recommend anywhere I can learn more to help me choose?

What does a QUICK laptop mean .
Quickest will be high price top of the range ,is that how far your budget stretches .
What is the laptop meant to be used for apart from being quick ??0 -
Ask lots of questions on here and don't go anywhere near Currys!0

Thanks, I'll try those forums.
I am not interested in gaming but I do need a computer that loads quickly and can handle multiple programs and ideally can handle having separate screens on different monitors.
My budget can stretch as far as I need it to. I use my laptop all the time so I might as well get a good one. But at the same time, I don't want to pay for things I won't use.0 -
So you want something with a SSD drive in it, at least 8GB of RAM and a Core i5 CPU.
Personally I'd be buying a Macbook Pro if there are OS X versions of your software. Whilst the initial upfront cost is a bit of a hard hit to take their resale value is extremely high and it isn't uncommon to sell one at 2 years old for just a couple of hundred quid less than you paid for it making it one of the cheapest laptops there is to own. Batteries also do far better than almost any other laptop. Mine is 2.5 years old, has 466 charge cycle counts and still has around 85% of original capacity left. I can say with certainty that that would be far from the case in any other retail laptop. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Does it really have to be a laptop? A desktop PC will either perform better or be cheaper (or both).0
