Hello all,
I am hoping someone can tell me how to make my computer run faster, its not the internet its the whole computer ie opening up a document, seaching for a document etc etc. I have been though all the add/remove and removed everything possible and only have the most important things left now. But its still slow.
I have lots and lots of files etc which I think maybe making the computer slow. Is there anyway of putting all my files into another part of the computer so the main drive of the computer I use runs faster?
I have something called citrix online launcher but I dont know if I should remove it or not?
thanks in advance!

Need more information.
Do you know what your computer make and model is? Any upgrades? What programs are you running? Know anything about the hardware inside the computer?
Lots and lots of files on their own don't necesarily slow things down, a full hard drive most definitely will.
Citrix online launcher is remote control software, is this a works computer/laptop by any chance?0 -
I've improved older pc's by running malwarebytes then ccleaner. Removing items from start up helped. Tools in ccleaner made this easier. Google anything you don't recognise.0

I'm wondering, does the machine show a lot of harddrive activity? Windows works best when it's been left alone for an hour or two, so it can perform queued tasks that it doesn't get the chance to do when it's being used.
Somewhere on the computer case, there will be a "service tag" sticker made up from numbers and letters. Can you post this tag please?0 -
There's a sticky at the top of this forum section - might be worth trying the suggestions in there first

on the keyboard hold the Win key down and press R ..... this gives the Run command line box
in this box type cmd and a black box appears
in the black box type systeminfo and paste the results on this forum
Citrix is a product that allows you to take control of remote PCs on a Citrix server. Generally used by people working externally to a company, but want to securely contact and use their work resources including securely on a persons own computer. Doubt it will cause you any issue.0 -
In very general terms... clean up unwanted software (uninstall unused programmes, perform disk cleanup and defrag). Upgrade hardware (consider replacing your hard drive with an SSD, and double your memory). However without knowing what spec computer you have, what OS you are running and what you are using the computer for - it is impossible to guide beyond this.0

You don't need to know what the PC spec is or what OS.
Just fit a faster CPU, faster RAM, faster storage and a faster OS. Sorted.
Its amazing going back to an original release OS and marvel at how quickly it runs. Then do all the updates and watch it get slower and slower with each one.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
