I found another thread, it looks like this might have happened before.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=6592931
The person that started that thread says the email was a fake, but didn't specify why.
Any thoughts?0 -
I have mailed ISPA as well, Joyce used to work for Bulldog as she dealt with a bit of my complaint back when I was with them over a year ago.
I have just received the 2nd email:
************************
Dear Customer,
We have been specifically appointed by Cable&Wireless to act on their behalf in respect of your Bulldog services.
Please open this secure link to view details of your account
Yours faithfully,

batiebatie it can't be a scam if Joyce at C&W is aware of Moreton and can contact them cancelling the 'debt'.0
-
My ISPA complaint has been successful as I had call today from C&W to advise that my account has been credited and Moreton Smith advised.0
-
My complaint to ISPA has also had a positive result! What you do is log on to https://www.ispa.org.uk/cgi-bin/complaints and complete the on-line complaint form. They forward your complaint to Cable & Wireless. You then get a phone call within 24 hours from Joyce Prashad confirming that your account has been credited and Moreton Smith advised to cease contact!
Thanks very much for the earlier tip - I'm grateful that this is now over.0 -
I have now submitted a complaint to the ISPA as well. I'll keep you posted with anything that happens!0
-
Glad it's worked for other people too, I only tried it by chance!0
-
Can somebody who has successfully made a complaint to the ISPA post up a brief guideline of what to say etc so I too can file a complaint? Cheers.WrexhamPCRepairs.co.uk0

Hi Dicky,
I just stated the monthly price I'd been given on sign up to indicate how much I should owe, the date I emailed and wrote to to then with my cancellation request and the reference number Bulldog assigned my cancellation email.
I added the names of people at Bulldog I'd corresponded with when chasing up my final bill and in attempting to confirm my account cancellation.0 -
Dicky: I simply complained about the way the debt had been handled. I made no claims as to whether or not the debt was owed but questioned the delays involved and lack of communication.0
