shocking bill from Iresa..please help!
At the moment I am with EDF, but I was with Iresa for about two weeks. At the time I believed I had E7, but I actually have E10.
They never once communicated with me about it, anyway, its being delt with by the EO.
I have had this shocking bill from them:
Meter Serial Number S0xx (off peak)
OP Meter Unit: KWH
PERIOD DESCRIPTION START END MULTI. R (p/kWh) USAGE (kWh)
14-Apr-17 - 08-May-17 Deemed (Settlement Registers) or 49849.50 51086.00 12.17 1,236.00
Cost of 1,236.00kWh at rate(s) stated. £ 150.38
Total Consumption £ 150.38
Meter Serial Number Kxx
Meter Unit: KWH
PERIOD DESCRIPTION START END MULTI. R (p/kWh) USAGE (kWh)
14-Apr-17 - 08-May-17 Deemed (Settlement Registers) or 54665.70 55351.00 12.17 685.00
Cost of 685.00kWh at rate(s) stated. £ 83.34
Total Consumption £ 83.34
Total Cost of Energy Used £ 256.10
Total VAT on Consumption and Standing Charge (5%) £ 12.19
The readingss I submitted to them were:
15th April 50248 for meter S0xx (off peak)
15th april 55032 for Meter Kxx
Then
9th May 51088 for S0xx (off peak)
9th Mayu 55353 for Kxx
The charges for the tariff are 12.7p peak and 7.84p off peak with a standing daily charge of 21.2p. Can someone please help tell me what i should be expecting to pay?! There was £72.53 of credit on the account.
I told them from the start they did'nt recognize my meter setup but they just kept talking about gas readings! Hence the EO taking up the case. Can't believe I need to pay over £200 for two or 3 weeks worth of leccy!:mad:

I’m not 100% what would happen in this situation, I mean when you set the account up they must of send you a welcome pack out with your T&c’s stating your tariff & the prices you would start paying per unit plus they would off also if mentioned the prices / switching times when you setup the account with them? I mean technically if the did and the T&c’s do state E10? Now all I’m sure the EO would do is to go back on the phone call and check to see if you was advised of the prices / switching times & if the supplier sent out a welcome pack with tariff prices on & to make sure the meter was collecting correctly. Hope this helps anyway mate & good luck0

Are you complaining about the unit prices or the overall bill ? If the latter then the big question is how do these readings tally with the closing readings from the supplier before Iresa and the opening readings used by EDF ?0

I am currently chatting to EDF (who I was with post and pre IRESA). They confirmed this:
Also to inform we have created a final bill for you based on the reading received from Iresa was 49850 and 54666
Also, they did tell Iresa I have off peak. There are no times about the E7 plan. I have complex metering with two meters, but Iresa just charge me the same rate for both meters!0 -

So, the meter reading that EDF used, before I went to Iresa?0 -
When I submitted the meter readings during my time with Iresa they never appeared on the website, it was just "deemed". Luckly I took photos when ever I did a reading. No one has ever knock here to check the meter. been hear since March.0

1. They clearly believe your start meter readings were much too high. Thus with the start readings they use you pay for an extra 765kWh - approx £97.
2. The consumption on both meters is calculated at the Peak rate of 12.7p/kWh.
3. Do not understand what you mean by 'There was £72.53 of credit on the account.' Any credit on the account when Iresa took over should be repaid by your previous supplier.(EDF)

So it appears Iresa did use the correct opening meter readings, or at least the same ones as EDF used for their closing meter readings.0 -

Ok, having gone over it. Yes its about the wrong meter reading they used and passed to EDF and that they have not charged me anything on the off peak.0 -

The thing is, on the day Iresa took over, I took a photo and the reading was 50248 and 55032. I have never seen or type the reading they are quoting. The £70 was what I paid to Iresa and when they failed to communicate with me or produce a bill since April I stopped payments.0 -

Thanks.
A perfect example to my golden rule for those that have your type of metering
Do not attempt to switch supplier with such legacy metering. Attempts to do so invariably end in tears
Thanks for proving the rule once again.
Good luck!0 -

Iresa would have passed your meter readings to EDF, but it seems that EDF did not accept those readings. In that case it goes to 'arbitration'* and readings agreed between the companies.
