Savings accounts accepting DD's

Co-op Bank's Select Access Saver account allows a monthly direct debit to be set up to pay in to the account.
You can apply for the account online, but managing the account is by phone, post and branch only.
This will still work if you require a DD for a Co-op current account as they still set it up as a DD rather than an internal transfer. All Britannia branded savings accounts are managed separately to other Co-op accounts.

Anyone setup a DD with Santander eSaver recently? I sent in some completed forms, with bank statements to prove the accounts are mine in separate envelopes, but they only setup 1 of the 3!0

Thanks
That might be useful for anyone scrabbling around for another DD.
Probably more reliable than PO Savings accounts, 1.4% isn't bad for a 'dummy' ;)DD and initial minimum £500 could be withdrawn with no penalty0 -
Scottish Widows Instant Saver 2

accepting deposits by regular DD. Can be managed online, post or phone.0 -
That scottish widows saver would be good but you have to apply by post, I can manage that but it requires either an initial deposit made by cheque from your nominated linked account (no cheque book) or if setting up a direct debit, an original bank statement (it's all online now for me) or a certified bank statement if printed from online.
How much hassle is that going to be to get an online statement certified at the local branch? I want to use a Tesco account and I'm not sure that I would be able to get a statement certified.0 -

Just order a chequebook or ask for a paper statement. It's not hard.0

Yes a cheque book is going to be the best way. I am just being lazy, I expect to do all banking via the computer and not have to print, post or telephone anyone.0

That's why people are losing their jobs!0

Interestingly, Birmingham Midshires have allowed me to open two of its internet savers - one of the monthly interest paying account and one of the yearly. Just an interesting thought for anyone that needed another DD.
