For what purpose? They are both very expensive for general use...0

Do everyday computing excel spread sheets, word, publisher business use etc not gaming. Its basically never off but PSU is failing. hairdryer at use. Also looking at some attempt to future proof. Current HP pavilion is 11yrs old.
Just do not know what is best spec at that money. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
Why that amount of money? The processor and graphics spec seems OTT for general use.
The main practical advantage of the more expensive machine is that it has an SSD (Solid State Drive) which will make a very noticable performance difference particularly when booting or with heavy disk usage. I suggest you look for a lower cpu/graphics spec (ie cheaper) machine with an SSD.0 -
Thank you for replies. I thought they both had ssd? I was looking at internal storage / memory. Can get 5% off prices so softens it a little
But as they are different in some aspects just confused

Personally i would not touch HP .Would generally find a local reliable PC builder/ Supplier .0

Intel is on 8th gen core i CPU now. i won't go for 6th gen.
Are you in hurry, if not, you would better wait to see if there is black friday deal.
If you are not gaming, you won't need video card.
If you want to future proof, get custom build PC which you can choose good quality component.
By the way, i would wait 1 or 2 month and go for something like i5 8400 with 8GB RAM and 250GB SSD0 -
