As the others have said, you've got heaps for what you want to achieve.

But hurry up and contribute as much as possible into a private pension for your wife: the absence of same is the obvious yawning canyon in your mountain of money.

How did I miss this as it is usually the first thing I look for. All those big numbers must have blinded me. Do this first THEN write the resignation letters. Absolutely no point in wasting either some of her personal allowance or even some of her 20% tax, especially if you need to pay 40%.
  • You've got loads of money - go!

I can't see how the hell you'll manage to spend 60k pa with a paid off house, I'd struggle to spend half that, even with a couple of fancy holidays per year.

Was I then, not the only one who really wasn't interested in sand boxes, blue sky thinking and, my favourite, reaching out?

I retired in June @56 years old,on a lot less than the OP.

    Thought you might like this!

OP, I'd go, for heavens sake, what if something were to happen to one of you next week? The other would be really devestated at the missed opportunities. I'm not far off going, but with far less in the pot.

    Think that was The Clash?

Although The Stranglers might say...."Get a Grip, why are you still Hanging Around? Don't stay there till you're an Old Codger :)

Everyone on this thread is saying Go Buddy Go, so don't give it 5 Minutes, realise that Something Better Change and Straighten Out.

Don't shed 96 Tears, get off home, treat the OH like a Duchess and treat yourself to some Peaches.

All that patronising tosh is for the Skin Deep, Walk on By and remember, it's Nice in Nice at this time of year".

    Or they might not :)

    Seriously, get out, good luck.

I've got 70+ working days to go and I can't chucking wait either!

Just to add OP, I suspect you are already bumping the £1M LTA so further contributions you make to your pension might not be very effective anyway, yet another reason to go ASAP.
