Got home last night from a work trip, interesting turn of events. Waiting for me on my doorstep was a letter from DRP dated 15/05 demanding payment. Interesting considering the charge was cancelled on the 3rd!
I'm thinking a quick email to the PPC with Steve Clarke cc'd demanding an explanation is in order!!0 -
I'm thinking a quick email to the PPC with Steve Clarke cc'd demanding an explanation is in order!!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

@ Umkomaas - ah yes! DVLA too, who should I copy in, David Dunford??
@ Castle - Yep!!! Pretty much exact wording as the last one. Titled "Demand for payment of an unpaid Penalty Notice"
It's funny cause its states.....
"Our Client "Clown PPC" has written to you recently about the unpaid penalty notice detailed above. As they have not received payment, they have referred the matter to us"
Interesting that they have been written to, because this would have been during the window between the 5th when it was cancelled and the 15th when it was sent. I have till the 29th to contact them ,shock horror, what ever should I do!!
Think within my email I will set out a schedule of charges for future contact, for anything that isn't confirmation of cancellation;-
- £50 for every letter received and stored
- £100 for every reply
- £100 an hour for defence research
- legal expenses as incurred0 -

administration error , overworked staff , the person responsable for sending the letter will be sent for "retraining"
thats about all you will get from the BPA/DVLA , the BPA is set up to PROTECT members interests , not help the public
PS Mr Dunsford has moved roles now0 -
Even funnier turn of events....
Steve Clark got in touch with me this afternoon. He must have been on the forum with this one popping up. He had my details after I spoke to him last time and asked if it was me and to confirm that I had received the letter. He emailed me back 2 hours later saying that he had been on to DRP explaining the situation and that I should receive a letter confirming the cancellation shortly!
In his own words the FA cup was boring so he would rather work, but to do so on a weekend and resolve the issue so quickly, have to give him the utmost credit!
Guess I'll have to go out and earn that money now rather than being gifted it by the charges ;-)0 -

BPA And DVLA0 -
Too true.
It's why I couldn't work for the BPA, despite being (others tell me) a damn good administration manager! And despite living not a million miles away from Haywards Heath.
Absolutely NO WAY could I be an apologist for this scam industry, scurrying around clearing up their mess, in order that the industry prevails.
Even though what Steve Clark does assists individual consumers, it doesn't assist the public at large, and actually makes things worse for people because useless money-grabbing PPCs carry on.
If decent people like him were not stopping the shht from hitting the fan, then the shht would hit the fan a lot quicker in PPC World.
And the Government would not have been completely hoodwinked in 2012 when the BPA reportedly lied (very badly) about the number of court claims per annum by their members, and pretended that 'keeper liability' would reduce the burden on the courts.
Someone should have been fired for that lie, IMHO. Look what they did.
The BPA's lobbying is responsible for the ludicrous court claim numbers now, IMHO.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

an employee has to work and protect his employer , the BPA is a members association set up to help and protect there members
