Insuring an additional vehicle.

Options
I currently have two vehicles each will their own fully comp insurance and both with maximum no claims.

What's the most cost effective way of insuring a third vehicle?

I obviously haven't any no claims bonus to use with the third car, so doe anyone know of a good broker who can get the best cost effective cover?

I had this problem a couple of years ago and just rang the company (not a broker) that insured my other cars. They gave me a two year NCD on the third car.

I can't remember who it was though.

Something like admiral's multicar policy maybe? Might get all 3 on one?

My existing insurer simply matched my existing (full) NCD as long as I agreed to stay with them for a couple of years. If I left after 1 year they'd give me a letter saying 1 years NCD on the extra car.

    Seemed fair to me.

How many drivers are there? I assume to get 2 cars with 2x full NCDs there's 2 owners?

Trying a multicar policy seems the obvious route; presumably they take NCD into account across all vehicles as well as potentially having a discount for multiple cars.

At the minute two drivers but it will go to three. Multicar policy's I've tried online only allow no claims on one of the vehicles.

Saying "maximum no claims" isn't really a very useful statement. Each insurance company will have a different maximum number of years no claims discount they will offer. So the number of actual years is the important thing and not that they are at that specific companies maximum.

So you are not a police officer?
Under this and your previous usernames(of which there have been many) you always try and give the impression of being an officer, is it not true?
Are you going to get abusive towards me again?

What has been a police officer got to do with the question posed?

There weren't mulitcar policies in the 80's.
