The company is so over the top with PC nonsense that the interviews take no regard to qualifications or technical ability (because only hiring qualified engineers for an engineering role is discrimination against unqualified people right!)
That doesn't sound even a little bit true.0 -
"This is an oxymoron. It is 'mostly a good company' but not the bit you are in.
It's like saying that I was a senior executive at McDonalds but was demoted to burger flipper and I will continue to do this because it is mostly a good company (no disrespect to burger flippers)."
Not really the company is made up of many departments each run like a separate entity there are even cultural differences between some departments.0 -

The job interview system used is a joke it takes no account of skills, experience or job fit but instead scores your ability to say as many corporate buzzwords while answering stupid questions like"name a time you created efficient synergies" each buzzword has a number this number is added to your "score" when used. The person with the highest score gets the job regardless of qualifications.
If you believe this to be the case, why not play the game and get the job by saying what they want to hear?
Unless, actually, that's not what really happens and is a convenient rationalisation to make you feel better about being unsuccessful?0 -

Potentially precisely the same then, unless you can imagine the boardroom in McDonalds HQ having the same environment as a fast food outlet.0 -

This is how it works people have got into engineer roles without a degree over people who had engineering degrees simply because they talked a high score! And this system has caused chaos in our dept.
Seems some people on here rather than offer advice just tell you your wrong, the company is perfect its just you being an idiot depite having zero knowledge or experience of the company or situation. You need to actually read my posts. Im that much of an idiot that I successfully run an SME outside of working full time0 -

I don't see anyone telling you this
Reality is that either your face doesn't fit or you're not capable of playing the interview game.
Assuming you're capable of running an SME servicing multinational clients why isn't this your core focus i.e. why do you need a better job at aerospace plc ?0 -
If your business is that successful then why on earth haven't you quit the data-entry job you hate? How much are you being paid for doing data entry that means it's not worth quitting that and concentrating on your successful business?0

What advice do you think we can offer? Other than you have 4 possible options
1. Just stay where you are and accept the status quo
2. Look for internal transfer, but play the game by their rules.
3. Look for a job with another company, perhaps in a slightly different industry
4. Could you be self employed full time?
I would echo previous posters that it is possible, for whatever reason, that your employer is trying to manage you outIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

And aerospace companies aren't like tesco one in every town they are few so there isn't much choice to apply externally unless your talking about an entire career change.
So essentially there's only one company that can make use of your qualifications. And that company is employing unqualified people to do the jobs that your qualifications fit you for.
it doesn't sound like a very useful qualification, really.0
