I too love the sound of Tru's Spa...My back seems to have turned a corner in a good way (if that makes sense!) and is a lot more flexible and relatively pain-free now but am sure it would benefit from some good old fashioned pampering!

I am however back to being a lady of leisure as the temp job has finished (the manager was offered someone on a redeployment job trial at no cost so it was a no-brainer for them really). At least the work I did has paid my bills for this month.

WM is on as we have family visiting this weekend for the Lights. Am planning to make lasagne for DH and I as we haven't had it for ages and I have everything in stock, but will have it tomorrow as I have got cooked rice & king prawns out for s stir fry tonight.

Hello again everyone and thank you for the words of welcome!!!

It is quite confusing keeping up with who's who on this forum! Reminds me of when I first started listening to the Archers!

JackieO - I feel so sorry for Frank's situation, having spent two months with Dad in hospital before he sadly passed three weeks ago. It was the most difficult thing I have ever been through.

Holly, don't want to bombard you with advice, and hope you don't mind me saying, but I read some stuff that Prof Mark Williams wrote - he's from Oxford Uni - about how we try and fight depression. We say things like "I should be getting up off this sofa and going out - then I'd feel better!" That approach makes us feel worse. He suggested we accepted our depression. I tried this a couple of years ago: I said to myself, "I am depressed so am going tonlie on this sofa watching daytime TV for as long as I want". Surprisingly I did feel better quite quickly.

I am having a better day. My friend rang this morning. Her dad passed away a few days after mine so that triggered more tears but since then. I have been OK. We took the car in for repairs and the mechanic said it wouldn't take long so why didn't we just wait at the coffee shop nearby rather than walking home then walking back later. Ended up having the most delicious cauliflower cheese soup ever - got change from a tenner too for lunch for the two of us. Car repairs nearly £100 but got a tank of fuel free with nectar points from DH's card - all accumulated before he met me but he said I could use them. Got £1 off our shopping at Coop too because we got a new card so had a welcome voucher. And stuck to just buying fruit and veg for once!

Going to now tackle the probate forms for Dad - that should save us money and I like being in control!

Hope you're all having a good day.

    Afternoon all,

Knitting this morning, usual gossip and cuppa, smaller group this morning but thats the way it goes. Nice day too although it has clouded over now...

DD3 and family have gone to visit DGD7s other grandparents, they will be back on Saturday to meet DS2 as he finishes the Dublin marathon on Sunday, will track him on line, too lazy to go into city!

Am babysitting for DD4 and OH tonight, they rarely get out together,,not sure what they are doing, just to get OUT may be enough!

Still having trouble with tablet, had port replaced at weekend but am still gettin redX across charging icon and it is taking forever to charge, will take it back at weekend, as apparently these problems can be caused by a fake charging cable....technology drives me nuts when it doesnt work!

Charge running out now.....hugs to all who could do with one, get well soon to all who are ill, and thank you all for being my friends
