  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, I am having one myself this morning.

OH has almost slept the clock round, he ended up going back to bed yesterday morning, got up was back in within half an hour, he then managed up for about 6 hours before he was back in bed again and sleeping. He woke briefly when I went to bed. I was up at 8am, have just taken his breakfast through, had to wake him.

He is back down to 3 tablets, he is just going to have to put up with the headache and it spiking!!

Bright morning, I need to clean the bedroom if I can get him out of bed long enough to do it. I have someone coming to see us tomorrow night about cleaning, I just cannot cope with it as it is. At the rate I am going it will be back to cleaning the whole house on one day and that does me in for the rest of the week.

I am going to bake salmon for tonights supper, we will have it with salad.

    How's that leg Cranky?

Morning everyone and thank you camelot. My sore leg is improving. It's not at the healing stage yet but it is starting to do what it should be doing (the patch of dead skin is starting to break down very slowly). They're thinking of trying a manuka honey dressing today to see if that works more quickly.

I was too tired to type yesterday after several broken nights sleep, but the House Troll went for a sleepover at his friends house last night. I have had a lovely sleep and woke up on my own at 8:15 this morning, so I'm feeling much better.

Jackie sorry it's not better news for Frank

Hollyharvey we are our own worst critics. Give up feeling guilty about what you are or are not doing and instead set yourself a small goal for each day. I see you've started today with eating a proper meal instead of junk. I always feel better when I'm eating properly, but if a bit of junk slips in don't feel too bad, just tell yourself you've done well for surviving and aim for better tomorrow. Sometimes it feels like I spend months "aiming for better tomorrow" but I'm doing my best and so are you so we shouldn't make ourselves feel bad or guilty. That goes for the rest of you too.

Oh wouldn't it be lovely of we could all have a spa weekend together? We'd need to book the whole spa so we could take Scampi too and not have any strangers, just us. We could take auntie Wolfie who could mind Scampi and just shout hello to the rest of us through the door. If I ever win the lotto (which is done rather sporadically) then we'll do it :)

Anyway I digress. Today I need to go and get the dressing done on my leg (they're letting me do it at home every other day now which is great) then collect the House Troll from his friend's house. Yesterday I put everything on his bed in the wash, including his mattress cover and his duvet, so he has a lovely fresh bed to come home to. He won't notice :rotfl: Time I went and made a start so love and light to you all :)

    Morning

Tru love your spa idea I may have to steal that for my next day off :j

Gorgeous day here blue sky quite warm :)

No work for me today so the plan is to do some cleaning after my weekend away when nothing got done. Need to nip to Dunelm too to pick up a new mattress protector I love that shop so will no doubt have a wander round too hoping that nothing falls in my basket though :o

Shopping with mum went ok yesterday although she did tell me that number one son has said he will come up on her birthday to take her for lunch. I didn't say anything but I had planned a hotel stay for us with dinner and afternoon tea so will have to cancel that as of course he comes first. :( Niggles that he gets her birthday then likely wont see her again till christmas.

Food today will be something from the freezer not sure what yet

    Have a great day all

    Cranky

I am so glad your leg is improving a little and the Manuka honey has been very effective in lots of cases.

Need to get myself ready to go out to volunteer at the library this afternoon but will nip upstairs first and change youngest's bed and do a quick tidy as she comes back tomorrow :j

    Hugs to all

That's if he shows up. In the back of her mind your mum is probably well aware of what he's like. If she saw him more often she wouldn't feel the need to say yes to whatever he offers. It's the not knowing that makes her agree to his every suggestion. You are a more sure and secure part of her life - it's hard to explain what I mean other than she knows that she can depend on you and you will always be there. Less exciting maybe but reliability is way more essential to everyday well being.

    Afternoon all
Yesterdays meal was lovely, I had hog roast wellington, potatoes, veg and a mushroom sauce and the "boys" had half a rack of ribs, BBQ chicken breast, chips and salad. The meals were so big no one could eat a dessert. Plus we had a voucher code for 40% off, so all in all a win win situation :D.
This morning the DGC were fed and taken to school and we stayed dry. Yeah !
Mr Fix It decided that instead of an online shop we would go to the super, super Tes*o store and we have just returned, hunter gatherers :p.
As the weather is sun shiny today I have put a load in the WM, so it will have a couple of hours on the whirly. I will finish it off on the airer if it's not completely dry.
It's DGS Halloween disco after school so will have to rush to get him ready. He's going as a Zombie American football player and he wants lots of blood everywhere . He seems to follow me with his love of horror and gore !
I shall probably have an early night as we were woken by another ambulance in the road last night. It was for a different elderly neighbour but at least her family turned up too, so many doors banging and clanging at 2am till 3.30am. I hope she is ok. Next door elderly neighbour is back home as she had a fall and took the skin off her whole leg, so they took her in to make sure it was dressed properly.
Ok I'm off to put the washing out now and have some lunch. I shall take Dad's prescription to the chemist later and then collect DGC.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Nelski maybe you could reschedule your hotel stay for after Christmas to cheer you & your mum up then? You could give her an IOU for it as her birthday gift ;)

Thank you Cranky and yes you are 100% right. This lovely place is where I can rant but ultimately I know mums not daft and of course she wants to see him the odd occasion he offers. Just wish it was a bit more often as I know how much she looks forward to his limited contact

My youngest DD and I had a spa weekend a couple of years ago which she had won through her work and we had a brilliant time just the two of us.we went to an hotel near Oxford at Wheatley and it was a trip down memory lane for me as I had met and married my OH at Oxford in 1962 !
How it had changed over the years though, sadly not all for the better, but we still had a fab weekend away and it was a 'freebie' as well even better.

A january treat sounds brilliant as January is a horrible month in my eyes cold, long and decidedly dismal after all the brightness of Christmas

I spent yesterday mainly trying to have a nap on the sofa. Where I had spent most of the day before in tears I had a terrible headache all day and it didn’t really ease off at all. On the plus side at least it has gone this morning.
Holly this is going to sound seriously weird, but trust me, it helps. If you're having a tearful day, try not to actually sob, just sit, with a hanky or three, relax, and just let the tears flow in a sort of continual stream. It makes for less of a headache afterwards than if you're doing great heaving sobs, and it's just as cathartic.
That said, of course I wish you no more tearful days - but I just thought I'd share a way I've found of avoiding the mega-headache. ;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
