Hope this is an ok place to post this question,
I’m getting old and forgetting my passwords and I’ve noticed my laptop has a link to sign up for a free version of ‘Dashlane’ password manager.
Does anyone have experience of this, does it work, is it secure, or should I look at other options?
I would be grateful for any advice.
Thanks.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Never used Dashlane but I like the idea in general. I Use the free version of Lastpass which works well for me across all browsers (one device only for free version, about £1 a month for multiple devices)
Only possible downside is if the password manager company is subject to a cyber attack. Never bothered me too much, but it is something to consider I suppose.0 -
I use safeincloud, free version.
I still have my little notebook though, with all my passwords recorded in a way only I can understand! That stays at home, in a safe place, so safeincloud is much more accessible.0 -
That's what I use. Have done for quite a few years.0 -
Thanks all, that gives me a few options to look into.

You can use the free version of Lastpass on more than one device. I have it on 3 Desktops, 2 laptops and 2 phones now.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Using KeePassXC (Lastpass compatible manager)
it's free on pc's and mobiles.
Just wish their was a manager with better browser integration. You know uses LastPass compatible DB and has you can right click in the password box and tell to autofill in a new random password, instead of jumping between programs!!

Beware of links that appear on your computer, some are malicious and not what they seem.trickydicky14 wrote: »I’ve noticed my laptop has a link to sign up for a free version of ‘Dashlane’ password manager.
Like others, I use Keepass. It's been good for me for several years. Set a long password or pass phrase, otherwise all your passwords could be vulnerable if you get a virus, etc.0 -
Thanks for the warning
but its not a link as such but an app that was on the laptop from new along with lots of other crap.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
