Electric shower - no power!

    rare I know, but it helps cover up my slip.

    Also most showers have an eco setting or low power setting and do not work at full load all the time.

    Breakers are not RCD's they trip to protect an overload which includes a time element. Check what is in your board. I didn't say what should be fitted, I as trying to work out what might of been done. I've seen showers wired to 30 / 32 breakers when they should be in a 40.

    I have of course come across them, but the BS 3871 Standard has been withdrawn quite some years ago. BS EN 60898 circuit breakers do not come in 30A.

    Ah, I thought the thread was about someone's problem with a shower and it was about what EN 60898 allows. Obviously no electrical installation would dare not comply. Most helpful.
