Electric shower - no power!

If you had an isolation switch there would likely be a power indicator light/led on it.
Sorry couldn't resist.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0 -

Surely this is the problem? Does it trip straight away or only when you turn on the shower?murphydog999 wrote: »On the fuse boards, the shower (which is 9kw) has a B50 fuse, it doesn't have a separate RCD, it is with 4 other fuses with a 30A RCD. Nothing has tripped so far, but when I do a test on the main board RCD it goes to it's mid position, when I turn it back on the RCD that the shower fuse is on trips, but nothing else. Does that help?0 -

Call an electrician, is my guess.0

But does the RCD trip as soon as you try to reset it or does it only trip when you turn on the shower? That's an either/or question and cannot be answered by "NO".murphydog999 wrote: »No, there is no power to the shower.
In your bathroom you have an electric shower (which does not have an isolating switch - already discussed and dismissed). How do you turn on the shower to use it. Is there a pushbutton on the shower or do you just turn a knob to allow water to flow? With the shower off, i.e. the knob in the closed position and no buttons pressed, does the RCD stay in the closed (i.e. reset) position? If so, when you go to use the shower by pressing buttons or turning knobs does the RCD trip?0 -
No, RCD doesn't trip, the shower, or rather the button that turns on the shower, is dead. But does the RCD trip as soon as you try to reset it or does it only trip when you turn on the shower?
The RCD only trips after the main RCD is turned off and back on again.

Thanks for the questions, hope that's clearer.0 -
